The multi-purpose stadium "Trud", Tomsk is its homeland, was opened back in 1929. Despite the long-standing existence, it is still used for various football matches and is considered the home club of the Tom team.
Historical information
Tomsk sport sprouted in the 19th century. But the city lacked a place where people could fully develop a sporting life.
There was also no organized group that would organize competitions not only on an urban scale, but also long-distance. At the beginning of the 20th century, the situation gradually changed. Gymnastics societies and athletic clubs appeared.
After the emergence in 1912 of the Tomsk Sports Club, the sports life of citizens has changed significantly. Full-fledged competitions began, which required a specialized place.
The construction of the stadium began. As for many sports facilities of the time, a military parade ground was chosen for its location. A garrison was located here, which was subsequently disbanded and a city park was laid in its place.
An interesting fact: at first, military warehouses were located in the equipped green garden.
Stadium location
The location of the arena is very good. In the area of historical significance Nizhny Yelan, near the park, bearing the beautiful name of "City Garden", even before the war, the stadium "Trud" was built. Tomsk (the address of Belinsky St. 11/1 is known to all fans of the Tom team) can rightfully be proud of it.
To date, the stadium is ready to accommodate up to 15,000 fans. But now, instead of the technically inconvenient and outdated eastern rostrum, the construction of a shopping and entertainment complex has begun. Features of the football field
Despite the rather old construction, the Trud stadium has pretty decent technical specifications. The size of the field itself is 105 by 68 meters.

Lighting is provided by floodlights installed back in Soviet times, which can provide power up to 1200 lux.
Reconstruction of the stadium "Labor"
Beginning in 2015, messages began to appear on the site of the Tom club that the Trud stadium would be reconstructed.
Tomsk will acquire a modern arena that meets the standards for professional football fields.
Work began on moving the northern and southern stands closer to the field. To carry out this maneuver, it was necessary to saw the stands into two parts.
The eastern tribune was to become part of the shopping complex. However, work was soon stopped. The city and the construction company began litigation. As a result, the tribune is not functioning and is completely hidden behind the building banner.
Stadium now
Since 2016, the stadium began to be used only for football games. The treadmills that had been on it since the opening were gone. The north and south stands are moved closer to the field, so the arena area has slightly decreased.
As a result of the reconstruction, the eastern tribune is closed. But a new modern coating appeared along the perimeter of the field. Illumination was increased to 1400 suites, due to the installation of new, more powerful, but practical floodlights.
Installed a new electronic scoreboard. The field was seeded with a new lawn and provided an update to the entire heating system.
Bronze fan
Not only the new field is famous for the stadium "Trud". Tomsk, on the eve of the 50th anniversary of its club, has got a sculpture “Bronze fan”.
The prototype of the monument was taken from the photo archive of the Tom club and embodied in bronze by the sculptor L. Usov. Initially, the “Fan” sat on the east side. But in connection with the reconstruction and the unresolved judicial issue with the contractor, the monument "moved" to the podium from the south side.
Good start
In 2005, the Tom team successfully started in the Premier League championship, and in honor of this event, a landmark appeared that adorned the Trud stadium. Tomsk prepared a surprise not only for the team, but also for all football fans.
The sculptors of the Gnedy, who are the father and son, brought to life an interesting idea. The monument consists of a figure of a football player and a scroll, where the names glorifying Tomsk football are inscribed.
In addition to the players, the teams immortalized for posterity the names of coaches, sponsors and key figures of the region. All those who helped the team achieve amazing results in the Premier League 2005.
Thanks to the two sculptures installed, we recognize the “Trud” stadium. Tomsk (photos are presented above) is now unthinkable without the famous monuments.
