After some time, Grigory Chernykh appears at the school, a smart and intelligent boy who used to read books instead of studying, then ended up in a labor colony for minors, and then to a boarding school, where Nikolai gave him the nickname Yankel. Problems with the formation of the teaching staff
Soon new guys appear, among them - Mommy without one eye and Japanese, fluent in German, a smart and clever tomboy. Almost immediately, he achieves universal respect, writing together with Vikniksor and Grishka the anthem of Shkida.
The head sorts all the pupils into several class groups, but the teaching staff, which the school called the Chaldeans, is not so easy to form. Some candidates cannot cope with naughty students, while others, without any experience, are trying their best to find their place in poor Petrograd. Once Grishka, Japanese, Kolka and Sparrow even made a real rebellion for teachers, connecting all the pupils to this. But after some time, two teachers who take root well in Shkida get a job at the school - Kostalmed and Alnikpop. They also deserve to be included in the summary. "Republic of SKID" is a work in which there are many actors.
"Moneylender" Slaenov
Immediately after these events, Slaenov arrives at the boarding school, who later became known as a powerful money-lender: he begins to speculate in food, giving it to his elders, and then completely hires strong guards. Soon all of Shkida, except for Grishka alone, became dependent on this boy. Every day, taking a significant part of the bread ration, the “money-lender” starts up servants who fulfill his every wish. Resentment begins to grow, and now in the kitchen near Grishka Gog, together with Mom, they are talking about how to defeat Slayenov. But the "usurer" is ahead of them, thus crushing the opposition. He simply beats Grishka in cards for a two thousandth rations. It would seem a hopeless situation. But Grishka and Mommy thought that you can tighten the scales so that they show the wrong data, and each time weighed the “money-lender”.
Thus, the boy manages to slowly recover his debt. But soon the manager replaces Grishka, who had been running the kitchen for six weeks, with Savushka, on whom Slayenov exerts pressure. He had to make a post in the rations book. Having heard about this, the head identifies him in an isolation ward, but indignant pupils raise a riot against Slayenov, and he secretly leaves school. “The Republic of SKID” is a book that leaves no one indifferent, as truly intriguing events take place in it.
Stealing potatoes
Soon problems began to arise with the delivery of food - sometimes for a long time there was no food. And the hungry pupils began to make their way to neighboring gardens, picking potatoes there. The angry manager swears that he will identify those who steal into the Lavra, and soon this promise almost comes to life, as he caught the theft of the Japanese and Grishka. But the whole Shkida rises to their defense, and Vikniksoor decides to have mercy on the guys. Everyone sighs in relief. Once, before leaving the office, Grishka examined the stove, but did not pay attention to the small coal that fell out of it, and this led to a tragedy. At night, a terrifying fire broke out, in which two rooms burned down, and many of the Mirrors were destroyed. Some time after this event, Leonid Panteleev arrives at the school , whom at first everyone disliked, but then accepted him into his friendly team. Soon, many students of Shkida became interested in publishing newspapers. This is Grishka, and Kolka, and the Japanese, and the Merchant, and Mommy, and Sparrow. However, after twelve weeks, passions subside, and out of sixty newspapers, only four remain. But even after this, teachers fail to find the desired peace: a new republic, Uligania, is being founded at the school. Even the capital was created. She was called Uliganstadt. The central street of this city received the sonorous name of Kleptomanievsky Prospect, and the residences of the head of the republic, the Merchant, as well as the people's commissars, are located on it. Younger groups become colonies. The coat of arms, anthem and the Constitution appear, where teachers are called enemies of the state. Testing knowledge, petty hooliganism, secret meetings
Soon, one colony is being transferred to the side of teachers, arresting the head of the republic and carrying out a coup, establishing Soviet power in the country. In early January, the school records: the head of the gubono by the name of Lilina arrives to check how the guys know the material. And in the spring months Uligania turns into a romantic place where everyone thinks only of love. But soon everyone forgets about their feelings and begins to play football. Suffering from boredom, Panteleev, together with Sasha Pylnikov, knocks out the glass of the laundry with cobblestones, and the manager expels them from school, however, giving a chance to return if they install new windows. When a political literacy teacher leaves Shkida, the children take everything into their own hands. In the dark, Grishka, Japanese and Sasha gather for secret meetings of their circle. They hold meetings every night. It was about the desire of the children for knowledge that L. Panteleev wanted to tell. The “Republic of SKID” sometimes simply surprises with plot twists, doesn’t it?
Uncom Education
The manager puts forward a proposal to legalize the circle. So Junck appears and the print publication, bearing the same name, whose employees become the above-mentioned guys.
Initially, the remaining pupils have a negative attitude to this circle, and Pylnikov proposes to establish a special reading room. When the manager leaves for the capital on business, riots begin that cannot be neutralized by either the newly-minted print organ or the German language teacher, nicknamed Elanlum. Here begins the most exciting events of the novel “The Republic of SKID”, a brief summary of which tells about the most important moments of the work.
Riots at school, the exclusion of some students, the revolt of Grishka and Lenka
Most actively involved in these atrocities are Guzhban and Kolka, who are engaged in theft, and spend money on selected funds with revelry, one of which is attended by disorderly members of the Uncom - Grishka and Lenka. The returning head, trying to return everything to their places, decides to expel some of the pupils. As a result, Guzhban, Kolka and several other students move to an agricultural college. After their departure, unpleasant events begin: Grishka and Lenka, devoured by the desire to become actors, completely forget about their work related to the print edition, and this makes the Japanese angry. Dissatisfaction arises from the decision to accept new employees at Uncom. It also becomes prohibited to smoke in the office where the print publication is based. Angry Grishka and Lenka, who can already be considered slammers (this translates from local slang as “faithful comrades”), spitefully everyone begins to publish their own personal newspaper. “The Republic of SKID” is a book, the summary of which can truly captivate the reader.
Exclusion of Grishka and Lenka from the Uncom and acceptance of them back
Japanese understands that he cannot be inactive. He gathers an urgent meeting, at which Grishka and Lenka are expelled from the Uncom. But friends successfully release their own publication, and then, to completely annoy the Japanese, they take their books from the reading room.
However, soon the faithful comrades decide that it is not worth wasting their energy on the fight against Juncom, and only because of this does he not cease to exist. Grishka and Lenka continue to dream about filming in films. After some time, they again become employees of the Uncom. But once both leave school, and behind them Sparrow, Pylnikov, Merchant and Japanese. Such sad events conclude the story “The Republic of SKID”.
