One of the most extraordinary cities of Russia is St. Petersburg. Enlightenment Avenue is located in the north of the city. One part of it belongs to the Vyborg district, the second to Kalininsky, and the third to the historical district of Shuvalovo-Ozerki.
Description
Each megalopolis has a historical center and outskirts; differences are especially pronounced in cities such as St. Petersburg. Enlightenment Avenue appeared in the second half of the 20th century and became one of the main transportation routes of the city. Its length is almost 7.5 kilometers. It serves as the border of two administrative regions - Vyborg and Kalininsky. It got its name in honor of educational workers. Active development in the area of ββthe avenue took place in the 70-90s, so most of the buildings do not shine with architectural originality.
In modern conditions, many cities are changing appearance, and St. Petersburg is no exception. Enlightenment Avenue today is built up with modern architecture and stores the islets of bygone antiquity. There are few sights within the city artery, therefore the attitude to them is reverent. The green areas are represented by the garden of Ivan Fomin and Bezymyanny Square, where a wooden temple is located, consecrated in honor of Anthony of Siia.
Prospect Enlightenment metro station (St. Petersburg) is one of the busiest. It is located near the intersection of two avenues - Enlightenment and Engels. The second station, Grazhdansky Prospekt, was built at the intersection of Prosveshcheniya Avenue and Civil Prospect. Municipal land transport - high-speed tram of route No. 100 and ordinary tram No. 58, trolleybus line, there is access to the Murino railway station (the intersection of Prosveshcheniya Avenue and Rustaveli St.).
Wooden church
Many ancient temples are filled with St. Petersburg. Enlightenment Avenue in the area of ββthe Nameless Square has its own attraction - the wooden temple of Anthony of Siia. It was built in early December 2003. The architects of the church were Yaroslavl carpenters, the structure was decided in the architectural traditions of the Russian North. There is a small belfry, heads of the ploughshare. In the future, in this place it is planned to erect the courtyard of the Anthony-Siya Monastery.
In the future, a stone temple for six hundred parishioners, a hotel building with a library and workshops of folk Arkhangelsk crafts should appear. Compound belongs to the Archangel diocese. Address: st. Olga Forsh, building 5. A carved wooden iconostasis became a striking and original decoration of the temple.
Shuvalovs Manor and park
Many eminent people had country estates, where they periodically left, leaving St. Petersburg. Enlightenment Avenue appeared in the 70s and was located on the very outskirts of the city. If you walk a little today from the metro station of the same name, then the suburban residences of the Petersburg nobility begin - Alexandrino, the Priory Palace and a little to the side of Shuvalovskaya estate. On the territory there are Napoleonic ponds, the pseudo-Gothic church of Peter and Paul, built by Countess Polie in memory of the deceased husband.
Near the church, in the Crypt of Adolf, lies the ashes of Count Pollier. According to rumors, one of the underground passages that Shuvalovsky Park is famous for is laid from the crypt. How true this is is unknown. The palace was built in the spirit of classicism. It is not always possible to penetrate into the territory, today a research institute is located here, but if luck smiles, then the walk will be unforgettable.
Monument to Shostakovich
Most of the monuments and sculptures are concentrated in the city center, and St. Petersburg is famous for them. Enlightenment Avenue is decorated with a monument to composer Dmitry Shostakovich. It was opened in 2009 and became the first in St. Petersburg. The patron who gave the money for the monument was the owner of the Grand Canyon shopping center, in front of which the monument was erected. The installation of the sculpture was accompanied by difficulties in coordinating the place with the city authorities, the composer's relatives asked to erect a monument near the apartment where the author of the Blockade Symphony lived during the days of work on the work. But everything was safely resolved, and the monument to the famous Petersburger pleases the residents of the avenue and nearby streets.
Teacher sculpture
Many unexpected monuments are kept by St. Petersburg. Enlightenment Avenue and its environs are decorated with several objects - a monument to the cannon, which they like to date, and a sculpture of a teacher. An amazing monument to pedagogical work is installed southeast of the avenue, at the intersection of Ushinsky Street and Uchitelskaya Street. The project was authored by sculptor Andrei Gulyaev and architect Stanislav Odnovalov. The sculpture consists of two hands releasing birds into the sky; it was opened in 2010. The pedestal is decorated with the words of the teacher Ushinsky, beaten out on it: "The teacherβs business is modest in appearance - one of the greatest things in history."
Subway station
One of the busiest streets in the northern capital is Enlightenment Avenue (St. Petersburg). The metro to the avenue was laid by 1988. The Prospect of Enlightenment station is one of the few where, if necessary, the systems of the ground-based anti-nuclear defense complex can be activated.
In the initial development project, the lobby of the station was an integral part of the industrial complex, which was planned to be built in two stages. But, since 1989, funding has been declining, and plans have not been implemented. The wasteland intended for construction was first occupied by the spontaneous market, and then a huge shopping center βNordβ grew up here.
Every year, many people come to St. Petersburg, metro station "Prospekt Enlightenment" (station) until 2006 was the northernmost in Russia. The underground part of the structure is located at a depth of about 65 meters and is built according to the column-wall principle. For decoration, natural stone was used - white marble, gray granite and natural stone of warm dark red shades. Exit the station to Prosveshcheniya Avenue (St. Petersburg).
The metro requires plentiful lighting, and it is represented by original lamps and shades. The end wall of the station is decorated with a large niche lamp. The side halls are illuminated by spherical chandeliers mounted on columns, and from the side of the central aisle - glass shades mounted in the eaves. Passenger traffic enters the station with four escalators.
Housing
In the years 70-80, the chief architect of the city G. Buldakov managed to implement some of the development plans on Prosveshcheniya Avenue. Experimental residential buildings are more spacious apartments with a convenient arrangement of rooms. Schools are equipped with swimming pools, large sports halls, and house courtyards allow all residents to spend their free time quietly.
The plans for the development of infrastructure included shopping complexes, residential skyscrapers, a hotel. Enlightenment Avenue (St. Petersburg) is being built up according to other plans today, but there are all the necessary facilities for a comfortable life.
