Meat and bone meal is a brownish powder made from dried and crushed bones and soft tissues of animals. It contains high quality protein, essential fatty acids, phosphorus and calcium. Production
The main suppliers of raw materials for the manufacture of meat and bone meal are meat processing plants that sell waste left after cutting carcasses. Sometimes veterinary confiscations and dead cattle are involved. In any case, before processing, all raw materials must be fresh and must undergo veterinary control. Meat and bone meal is obtained using high-tech industrial processing. First, the raw material enters the chopper, where bones and cartilage are crushed. After that, it is subjected to heat treatment in a dryer. Next - again grinding to a state of mince. In this form, the future meat and bone meal is degreased and dehydrated in a centrifuge. After secondary drying, the resulting powder is again crushed, sterilized and packaged.
The nutritional value
Meat and bone meal is a valuable source of energy, protein, vitamins and minerals that are perfectly absorbed by animals, and also improves the amino acid profile of the feed. Its main mineral components are approximately the following: calcium (12%), phosphorus (5.9%), sodium (0.9%), potassium (0.4%), chlorine (0.8%), magnesium (0, 85 %).

This makes flour a safe fertilizer - if used wisely, its “overdose” is impossible. A high calcium content prevents acidification of the soil and reduces the costs associated with liming.
