Scott Parker - Charlton legend

Scott Parker is a legend of the Charlton English club, of which he is a pupil. However, Parker managed to play far not only in this club, but also in many others, although at the same time he is a British to the marrow and has never in his career moved to a club that would play in the championship of another country. But what did Scott Parker show for his career?

Charlton gains legend

Scott Parker joined the Charlton club system when he was only ten years old. He played for the youth squads of this team, until at the age of 18 he was offered a professional contract. However, unfortunately, it was only paper, and in fact, Parker was not provided with practically no opportunities for implementation. Who would have thought that such a talent would be in a club that does not even play in the top division? However, the ability of the central midfielder was still noticed, so after four years of extremely rare appearances in the starting lineup, Parker was sent on loan to Norwich so that the young talent could get a game practice. Naturally, there he immediately entrenched in the base and spent six matches, scoring one goal - in about one month about the same as in Charlton in the first two years. But in December 2000, the lease agreement was terminated, as the Charlton captain was injured and Parker was given the opportunity to replace him. Scott immediately entered the game, and amazed everyone with his talent so much that when the captain recovered from his injury, he lost his place in the starting lineup. So Scott Parker began to play for Charlton on an ongoing basis, gaining impressive fame throughout the UK. After renting at Norwich, Parker spent two and a half brilliant years at Charlton, as a result of which his top European clubs became interested in his performances, but Parker chose the UK, so in the winter of 2004, the 24-year-old midfielder moved to London's Chelsea. The only thing Parker achieved with his native club was his access to the Premier League in 2000. At Chelsea, he was supposedly awaiting great accomplishments.

However, unfortunately, the genius of Charlton was far from honored at Chelsea. In his home club, Parker Scott played in 145 matches, scoring 11 goals. And in Chelsea in a year and a half he appeared on the field only 28 times, hitting the enemy’s goal only once. Of course, in 2005 Parker added the League Cup to his meager collection of trophies, but quickly realized that it was more important for him to play, rather than sit on a bench in a club with a big name. Therefore, Chelsea, who bought the player for 14 million euros, sold it cheaper (for nine million) to Newcastle - again, Parker Scott never left Misty Albion.

Re-rise

After nearly two years wasted at Chelsea, Parker faced a serious challenge - to return to the previous level. And he did it just fine - he immediately fit into the Newcastle. Of course, you can pay attention to many indicators that are attributed to such a player as Scott Parker - rating, statistics and so on. However, six goals scored in 73 matches - this is far from the most important thing for the central midfielder. Parker showed both incredible selection in destruction, and wonderful passes and a vision of the field in creation. And largely thanks to his magnificent game in 2006, Newcastle was able to win the third most important trophy in Europe - the Intertoto Cup (which now no longer exists). As a result, in 2007, another English club, West Ham, paid almost ten million euros for a 27-year-old player - and Parker has settled there for a long time.

Scott Parker Rating Stats

Scott Parker, whose biography is not so full of outstanding achievements, demonstrated extremely outstanding football. Surprisingly, in his first season for West Ham, he could not firmly gain a foothold in the base - however, then he quite successfully played the role of a key player. As a result, he spent just a few fewer matches for this club than for his native Charlton - 129. But in 2011 Parker made another attempt to increase - this time Tottenham became interested in the 31-year-old player, who paid for him about six million euros.

Scott Parker Biography

This time, unlike the case with Chelsea, Parker was able to gain a foothold in the basis of Tottenham Hotspur and played for this club in two years in 63 matches. But he himself perfectly understood that at 33 years old his speeds were far from those, therefore in 2013 he accepted the offer from the less top Fulham club, for which he still stands. Parker will soon be 36 years old, but Fulham is not going to part with his age leader - in May of this year, his contract was extended for another year.
