Do you like to joke? Are your witticisms always beyond foul or do you prefer not to beat a person under your breath? In any case, our topic today is for comedians. We will tell, of course, about the meaning and origin. And the subject of the conversation? Oh yes, this is a "mock."
Origin and meaning
We know the verb, or rather, we know about its presence, but few remember the noun related to the verb - glum - "joke, ridicule." It has not been preserved in the literary language, as the etymological dictionary states. Probably a wonderful word remained in the dialects.
Since we don’t have very many stories for the reader, this time we decided not to share the meaning with the story. Modernity and tradition will act as a united front. In other words, we move on to the meaning of the word “mock”: “Viciously and insultingly mock”. We will not argue that time has changed the meaning of the verb. Indeed, mockery can be a mockery as a joke, and a mockery is almost always evil in relation to the object of influence.
If we talk about examples, then irony as a phenomenon is quite suitable for illustration. True, the irony is neutrally charged, but sarcasm is a wicked and caustic joke, which, as a rule, severely ridicules the flaws of the person who came under its shelling. By the way, sarcasm is in great honor today.
Joker - perfect theme illustration.
To understand, to mock - this is what, you need to remember the behavior of the outstanding villain and enemy of Batman - the Joker. All his actions are one continuous evil joke. Over whom? Perhaps over the world.
If you look for illustrations in Russian classics, then almost immediately Koroviev will come to mind from the novel by M. A. Bulgakov “The Master and Margarita”. Woland is not a joke, but Bassoon gladly takes on this role and heartily mocks people.
If the reader needs an example from life, then he can remember himself as a teenager or look at adolescents in principle - this is when the glum blooms in full color.
