At the beginning of the XXI century, it is innovation that is the main source of economic growth of a society. As is known, the basis of the innovative development of any state is new knowledge and technology.
The implementation of a state-defined innovation development strategy requires the integration of science and production. The factor analysis of profitability indicators in this case should take into account indicators of the effectiveness of using the achievements of scientific and technological progress. It is clear that information and analytical support is essential at all stages of the innovation process.
Many scientists emphasize that the national innovation system is an important prerequisite for the successful revival of the national economy, its adaptation to the conditions of international competition.
Analysis of profitability indicators of the enterprise shows that the intensive use of information technologies in various fields significantly changes the idea of the role of the human factor and information in modern society. The new definition is more fully manifested - national information resources, which are becoming one of the significant factors in the development of the industrial world.
As an analysis of profitability indicators shows, information in modern conditions acquires the features of a production factor, and does not replace innovation as a truly new addition to the technological warehouse of society. Thanks to information technology, it becomes possible to significantly increase the efficiency of economic activity. This is achieved due to the properties of the information resource being copied, and not reproduced, as it is with traditional factors of production. New systems of production forces, which are based on information technology, are increasingly replacing old forms in the advanced economies of the world.
It is quite obvious that the information industry has acquired a sufficient level of industrial features with a clearly defined innovative development model, a particle of which in the general structure of the economy of developed countries has grown significantly. However, as the analysis of profitability indicators shows, as a result of an extensive advertising campaign with the aim of attracting investments, there is a certain overestimation of the possibilities of its impact on overall economic growth.
In general, the structure of the information sector consists of four components:
- production of computer equipment, telecommunications and network devices;
- creation of an information product (development of system and application software; formalization of information in electronic form);
- introduction of industrial capabilities for generating information resources;
- improvement of industrial technologies that provide a fundamentally different state of economic growth.
Initially successful sales of the products of the first two components over the past few years have encountered a completely natural decrease in demand, which was the result of a decrease in the rate of introduction of products of the third component as a result of the society’s unwillingness to accept innovation in parallel with the emergence of their supply. As the analysis of profitability indicators showed, the use of new tools was not provided with an appropriate regulatory framework, complicated by outdated economic mechanisms. The situation in the information sector was aggravated by the principles that differ significantly from those established in the traditional economy. First of all, this concerns the formation of the cost and price of information sector products. The basis for the capitalization of the subjects of activity of this sector was non-material assets, primarily in the form of information technologies and incomplete information resources, which led to a contradiction between the so-called “new economy” and the traditional one. The incompleteness of information resources consists in the existence on the information market of only tools for the modernization of other areas, while completeness is ensured in the process of developing the information technology base by enterprises of the traditional economy, which complement the hardware and software component with an information product that reflects the subject area of their activity.
As the analysis of profitability indicators demonstrates, the latest events that take place in the information sector confirm the erroneous ideas about its ability to continuously provide a growing innovative stream. It only creates meta-tools, the adaptation of which to the needs of a particular subject area and use accelerate the emergence and implementation of innovations in it.
The study of problems of innovative development today is inseparable from the formation of a new socio-economic formation, the dominant mode of production of which is based on information technology.
