In the mid-1990s, Sergey Mavrodi organized a private company, which at first was engaged in simple trading, but in 1994 it was recognized as the largest financial pyramid in Russia. The name MMM comes from the first letters of the names of its founders. In addition to Sergey, they became: a brother Vyacheslav and a certain Olga Melnikova. For a fairly short period of time, this notorious company has made deposits from about 15 million investors, which are ordinary Russian citizens.
The activity of this company was not too long, but very successful. After several years of its existence, it was destroyed. Sergei Mavrodi himself claims that this happened directly due to the influence of many state structures of the Russian Federation. But a huge number of defrauded investors believe that the founders turned a global scam for the sake of their personal enrichment. Everything, in principle, looks like that. When the MMM budget reached its peak, this financial pyramid unexpectedly for all investors began to gradually collapse. Thus, all the money disappeared in an unknown direction. Many people answer the question about what MMM is short and clear - a very thoughtful scam.
This pyramid appeared in 1989. When asked about what MMM is, its leaders answered - a company selling imported office equipment. Maybe it was at first, but in the future, MMM (the pyramid, as they will call it after) became the largest company in the entire post-Soviet space.
Around 1992-1994, advertisements were actively shown on all Russian television channels that explain to ordinary people what MMM is. In such a straightforward way, its first investors were enticed into the pyramid, who, hoping for a future gorgeous financial situation, were happy to purchase MMM tickets, as it seemed then, for little money.
Since 1994, these tickets have been sold for a thousand rubles, but twice a week the price has changed so that in a month it grew approximately twice. Those people who didn’t have time to buy tickets immediately wanted to get them as soon as possible so that they wouldn’t pay more later. Because of such haste, ordinary citizens simply did not have time to think about their decisions, and Sergey Mavrodi became richer every day, which made him a very happy person.
The purchase scheme was so adjusted that in one day, many residents of Russia did not have time to physically purchase tickets. As a result, the very next day they again stood in lines. Do not forget that the price of tickets grew at an unprecedented rate, and people still continued to throw away their hard-earned money.
Surprisingly, in just six months, MMM's shares have grown 127 times. But this did not stop investors. Even those people who managed to purchase these tickets for one thousand rubles, decided that this was not enough, and bought more shares, but for a lot of money.
At that moment, future defrauded investors, when asked about what MMM was, unanimously claimed that this was the company that could make their future and the future of their children very successful and rich. Such an opinion will change dramatically in them after three years, when it turns out that people were simply deceived.
In 2011, Sergey Mavrodi again began to organize something similar to the MMM of the 1990s. To the surprise of many, people again began to believe him. Be careful and do not let yourself be impudent for the second time. Probably, trust in this person should not remain. Just after a time, when many forgot about this grandiose deception, and new potential investors grew up, Mavrodi again decided to make a huge amount of money.
