History

However, after the construction of the hydroelectric power station, it was decided to flood this part of the territory. In 1996, a dam was built that controlled the water level. Thanks to this, this area of the city was greatly ennobled externally. Over time, the dam was given a poetic name - “The Road to the Temple”, as it led to the monastery through the church of the 17th century. Currently, it is recognized as a historical monument. That is how the artificial gulf was formed.
Cheboksary is a very beautiful city. Fountains were built on the bay. From a distance, they look just great. The coastline is concreted, a fence has been built almost around the perimeter, lighting has been carried out.

You can get to the water area by public transport, reaching Red Square (stop). Further they move only on foot.
