History
The village was founded in 1595 at the place where the Poluya River flows into the Ob. Initially, it was the Obdorsk prison, which is the northernmost in Siberia.
Since 1635, permanent residents appeared in these places. The prison was demolished in 1807, and the village itself became the village of Obdorsk (the very place where Salekhard is located).
