Anthropogenic impact on the biosphere and its consequences

Since the inception of mankind, its intervention in the environment has occurred. The degree of its influence depends on the nature of the damage caused. Anthropogenic impact on the biosphere occurs due to human activities. Today it is the most important environmental factor affecting the world.

At every stage of the development of mankind, interference in ecology was different. There are several stages of the manifestation of anthropogenic impact on the biosphere.

Initially, it was minimal and was limited only by the natural needs for food and water.

Then people began to hunt, without causing particular harm to nature. This was in the early period of human development.

Later more serious interventions in ecosystems began. People began to plow the land and cut down forests.

After this, a stage began during which people had the greatest impact on ecosystems and the biosphere as a whole.

Urbanization has caused pollution of the atmosphere and its components. And this process is gaining momentum every year.

The anthropogenic impact on the biosphere can be slightly reduced if the streets are planted with trees and other greenery. Park areas should also be organized to reduce air pollution and noise pollution.

The biosphere is part of the shell of the earth. It is inhabited by living organisms, which form chains, a biological cycle and other connections. Their violations lead to irreversible consequences. Human intervention or anthropogenic impact on the biosphere is not always positive. Toxic sources have appeared, destructive not only for living organisms, but for all mankind.

The balance in nature, soil composition, animal numbers and plant diversity are changing.

Harmful emissions from industrial enterprises are enormous. Air and water are polluted, which leads to a decrease in the standard of living of people. The construction of buildings, the expansion of cities changes the terrain. Those plants and animals that were characteristic of the area disappear.

Pollution of water bodies, rivers and other water bodies affects not only the nearby nature, but also the environment of the entire planet. The anthropogenic impact on the biosphere in this case is widespread. Wastewater flows into rivers and lakes, but, as you know, all the waters flow into the oceans. Therefore, all harmful substances invariably pollute other territories. Toxic substances, salts of heavy metals, oil products and other chemical compounds get into the water.

It is impossible not to mention the irrational use of resources that the land gives us. Anthropogenic impact on the lithosphere is also a problem for mankind. During their activity, people have extracted about 125 billion tons of coal, over 100 billion tons of various minerals, 32 billion tons of oil. All this causes processes on the surface of the earth and in its bowels, which are irreversible. Most resources are not renewable and are running out of supplies. Here we can distinguish the following types of environmental pollution :

1. Anthropogenic impact on soil composition.

2. Erosion of the soil.

3. Salinization or waterlogging of the soil

4. Desertification of land

5. Alienation of land.

The development of mineral resources affects all components of the environment that surrounds a person.

People need to prevent the recent environmental disasters. Massive spill of oil products leads to the death of marine living organisms and pollution of water expanses. Accidents at nuclear power plants are the largest disasters. As a result, not only living organisms die, but also people.
