Manufacturer
The first tractor “Stalinets-60” left the conveyor of ChTZ on May 15, 1933. But the official opening of the plant took place only on June 1. During the Second World War, tanks and fuel pumps for heavy bombers were assembled at the enterprise. After the war ended, the plant returned to tractor production. For the entire period of the enterprise’s existence, such popular brands of this heavy equipment as “Stalinets-100”, DET-250, T-100M, T-130 were developed and produced here . Actually, the T-170 model itself was first launched into series in 1988. It was subsequently produced for 14 years.

Base model engine
The four-stroke diesel engine D 180 111-1 brand used on the tractor has three power levels. This allows you to use the model resources as rationally as possible. Transmission and running tractor
Like all other ChTZ bulldozers, the T-170 tractor is equipped with a multi-stage mechanical transmission. The clutch on the model provides for permanently closed dry friction. Shock-free gear shifting is ensured by the fact that during the brake pedal the friction lining is in contact with the housing of the shutdown bearing, stopping the upper shaft of the box.
You can remove the clutch from this tractor without dismantling the diesel engine and the upper half of the casing. Actually, the gearbox of the model itself has as many as eight speeds (4 forward and 4 rear). Two variants of gearbox can be installed on the tractor, depending on whether the power take-off shaft and creeper are provided in the design or not.

This is one of the main reasons for the huge popularity of the T-170. The price of this model in the secondary market, depending on the year of manufacture, is 400-850 thousand rubles.
