Anyone with a garden or garden knows what weed control is. With each coming of spring, besides pleasant troubles, this irreconcilable battle awaits us. And not always a person comes out victorious in it. Weed herbs are less demanding on growth conditions, they are more likely to survive than cultivated plants. For example, potatoes will not survive without leaving a person, without water, feeding.
And weeds grow near him, on his territory and are his rivals in the struggle for nutrients and moisture. If they are not destroyed, then, in addition to reducing the commercial quality of tubers, the appearance of all kinds of diseases, inconvenience when harvesting potatoes, yield losses can amount to 50%. And this is quite sensitive. Because poor summer residents every weekend spend several hours of their time weeding the garden, instead of spending those hours in a more interesting occupation.
Properties of the drug "Lapis"
Some categorically do not recognize chemistry, fearing to poison both the soil and themselves, they fight weeds by mechanical means. Others start looking for helpers. There are several effective recipes for killing weeds when growing potatoes. One of them is the use of herbicides, special preparations for controlling harmful plants. For processing potatoes, there is a group of such products from different manufacturers. To date, the drug "Lapis" from weeds - the main herbicide. It perfectly destroys annual weeds on potato plantings. Penetrating into the leaves, kills them. It also acts for 1-2 months through the soil on growing weeds.
The drug suppresses annual dicotyledonous and cereal pests (cornflower, quinoa, ragweed, gauze, gingerbread, dandelion, chamomile, sow thistle and others). However, when used properly, it does not adversely affect potatoes. Lazurite is produced from weeds in the form of a powder, which includes metribuzin 700g / kg. Packaged in bags of 20 g.
Methods and processing time
There are two ways to apply the Lazurit weed control. The first is a one-time. Spraying the soil is carried out before germination of the crop at the rate of 0.7-1.4 kg / ha. An important point: the tubers should be deepened in the ground optimally so that the drug could not affect the area of the sprouts. For an effective result and even distribution of the product, the soil should be moist, loose and lumpy, the ridges well settled. The weather is preferably calm.
2 way - twice. The first time the soil is sprayed to seedlings of potatoes in the norm of 0.5-1 kg / ha. The second time the treatment is carried out in a dose of 0.3 kg / ha with a height of 5 cm of potato seedlings and during the period of emergence of 70-80% of them.
Consumption rates
Using the drug "Lapis" from weeds, the exact dosage according to the manufacturer's instructions and caution should be observed. Immediately before use, we prepare a solution: in a large bucket in 1 liter of water, dissolve 1 sachet of the drug, stir and add another 5 liters for initial treatment (before germination of the culture). If we prepare the solution for the secondary procedure, then 1 sachet is diluted in 20 liters of water. The finished solution is immediately used, not stored!
The dosage also depends on the composition of the earth and the content of humus in it. The maximum dose of the drug "Lapis" is used on heavy soils, and on the lungs - the minimum. If the earth contains less than 1% humus, then because of its weak absorption capacity, the herbicide is not used at all. On peatlands, soils containing more than 6% humus, wetlands, spraying should be carried out with already grown weeds. Early potatoes use lower drug consumption rates (not more than 0.5 kg / ha), and later potatoes use higher ones. Processing is best done at a temperature of 15-20 degrees C. If it is cooler or the rain has passed after the procedure, the effect is noticeably reduced. After 2 weeks, weeds die.
Contraindications for the use of the herbicide
Do not use the “Lapis lazuli” remedy for weeds when potato seedlings have suffered from frost, pests, shoots are sick or very weak. Also, if the variety is sensitive to herbicides, their negative impact on the growth and development of the plant, chemical treatment should be abandoned.
You need to be careful and follow safety precautions using Lazurite. Weed control using herbicides eliminates labor-intensive weeding and even increases yield. But it should be remembered that this method is unsafe and justified only when other measures to destroy the weed have not been successful.
