He did not get into the main team since February 2001, so in January 2002 the club was left without Klopp-player, but got a Klopp-coach, which, as it turned out, was much more useful.

In the first two years, this was not possible for the coach, although the team finished quite well - both times in 4th place, that is, in one single step from the ticket to the top. And in 2004, luck was on the side of Klopp and his wards - “Mainz” took third place and got into the Bundesliga. There, the club entrenched in the middle of the table, and then even began to get into the UEFA Cup, although it did not go far. But the happiness did not last very long - in 2007, Mainz ended up in the Second League, and Klopp, who felt the need for a new challenge, announced that he would leave the club if he did not return to the Major League. Alas, the “Mainz" this task was beyond the power - so ended the 18-year-old saga, which Klopp will remember for a long time.
Triumph with Borussia
The activity that Klopp Jürgen, whose photo then could be seen in every German newspaper, launched in Mainz, did not go unnoticed. When Klopp was unemployed, he immediately received an offer from the Dortmund Borussia, which was far from in its best condition. For Jurgen, this task seemed quite interesting - to revive a powerful German club in the Bundesliga, where all the teams are strong, and there is also the great Bayern. It took two years for the coach to create a new “Borussia”, which already in the 10/11 season showed that she was ready to fight on an equal footing with “Bavaria”. The club won two German Championships in a row, although the last time the Dortmund players held the Silver Salad Bowl over their heads back in 2002. In 2012, in addition to winning the championship, Borussia won the German Cup, leaving Bayern without any trophies, after which Klopp was named coach of the year in Germany. Well, the next year he brought his team to the finals of the Champions League, the most prestigious football club tournament, where revenge was achieved last year - Bayern beat Borussia, knocking out the Dortmund players from the Cup and losing their German champion title. But this did not stop Klopp - “Bayern” is now, of course, stronger than ever, but Jurgen continues to build his team and work tactical miracles.
