Modern fables, as a rule, are not very different from those that were presented to readers many centuries ago. Such a direction in literature arose quite a long time ago, but its essence has always been to educate a person, to direct his thoughts in the right direction. One cannot but note a certain philosophical meaning in many fabulous works. However, the basis of any such creativity was an artistic composition.

If earlier some particular features were ridiculed, they were usually depicted in the form of various animals, today the meaning can be called more understandable. In principle, one can even abandon morality at the end of a work, since it is clear as day.

If modern fables contain animals or insects, then they, as a rule, are not isolated from society. In most cases, their meaning, as well as their presence in the work, should be taken literally, not to look for certain author’s allegories. However, there are frequent cases when both the animal and the human worlds are used. This is often necessary in order to create some kind of comic effect, to show how much nature differs from people.
The irony in modern fables
Recently, fables of modern authors have acquired another distinguishing feature. Previously, it was impossible to distort the meaning of a good beginning, the ultimate victory over evil. Today, borders have become so blurred that writers can use irony in their works. Based on this, one can easily explain the fact that in the modern fabled art there are works that are in no way connected with the teaching. On the contrary, they are odes to fools, thieves or, for example, dishonest politicians. But the essence is clear, because it is sometimes easier to understand satire than the thoughts of great philosophers or scientists.

It is worth a little concretization and say about who is currently writing fables. For the most part, these people are not professional authors at all - they just pour on paper what has accumulated over a certain time, giving it meaning and irony. In a word, modern fables with morality contain the same meaning as several centuries ago, but with the addition of some elements that were dictated by time. These new qualities and details, in fact, reflect the current literary art. The authors simply interpret the past thoughts of great and smart people so that they are understandable to the modern reader.
