Georgi Peev - Perm Victorious

Georgi Peev is a Bulgarian football player whose professional career lasted for nearly 20 years. He signed his first professional contract back in 2007 with his native Lokomotiv from Sofia.

The first and only "big" club in the life of Georgi was Kiev Dynamo. The Bulgarian showed himself well, having excelled eight times in the opponents' goal in 85 matches for the capital's team. Georgi Peev also played in European competitions, where Dynamo were regular from year to year. The midfielder showed a good result and received invaluable gaming experience, but he failed to become his own and “stake out” a place at the base. The year 2007 for Dynamo was marked by several changes in the head coach, so Peev decided to leave the Kiev club. It is worth noting that by this time Georgi had become the main player in the national team.

Unexpected turn

It cannot be said that Peyev was immediately lined up with a line of potential employers, but nevertheless they were able to offer him a full-fledged contract in Amkar. The modest Perm team from year to year was a strong middle peasant in the Russian Premier League, but no more. Eurocups could not offer Bulgaria here every season and a fabulous fee, but the prospect of playing in the first team tipped the scales towards the “red-black”.

Happy together

Be that as it may, but Georgi Peev clearly fell to the court of Amkar. From year to year, he showed enviable stability, playing up to thirty matches per season and several times afflicting opponents with goals scored. It is not surprising that over the years in the starting protocol for the match more often than others the same name appeared - Georgi Peev. “Amkar” never became a grand of Russian football, but for their loyalty to the club, fans who came to the stands of Zvezda were ready to carry an idol in their arms.

In total, the Perm midfielder played 236 matches as part of the Perm Amkar - a serious indicator, given that Georgi Peev had moved there already at a solid age by football standards - at 28 years old. The Bulgarian went through a lot in the Perm club, survived the crisis, and several changes of coaches. Peev developed friendly relations with all of them, with the exception of the disgraced Haji Hajiyev. The footballer does not hide the fact that at the end of the 2015-2016 season, they had a conflict with the coach, because of which not only the Peev era in Amkar, but also his football career as a whole ended. But, despite this, in the hearts of fans from Perm Georgi will forever remain a modest hero, ready to fight for his native team until the final whistle.
