Colbane Sigthorsson is an Icelandic striker who is most remembered for his appearances for the Dutch Ajax. It is also worth noting that he is one of the best scorers in the history of the Icelandic national team - in 44 matches he scored 22 goals, and he is second only to Eidur Gudyonsen in this indicator, who has 26 goals for the national team. Colbane Sigthorsson was born on March 14, 1990 in Iceland, and at the age of six the boy joined the football academy of the Vikingur club, based in his native Reykjavik. He spent six years there, until in 2003 he was called to his more impressive club, the Cowpawogs. It was there that Colbane opened up - already at an early age he showed incredible abilities, scoring flair and had an impressive blow. Thanks to this, in 2006, at the age of 16, he managed to make his debut in an adult team and played five matches in which he scored one goal. Naturally, it attracted the attention of other European clubs playing in stronger leagues. So, in the summer of 2007, Colbane Sigthorsson was at the Academy of the Dutch "AZ".
Transition to AZ
In 2008, Colbane Sigthorsson, a football player who had high hopes, became an adult, and the club signed a professional contract with him. However, for the first time, he received game practice only in a double. Only in the 2010/2011 season was Colbane able to break through to the base and immediately hit everyone, scoring 18 goals in 43 matches. Naturally, in the summer of 2011, Ajax Amsterdam acquired young talent for four million euros.

In the first two seasons, he appeared on the field only 37 times, but scored 16 goals. In the next two seasons, he entered the field much more often - in the amount of 68 times, scoring 19 goals. At the same time, three times Colbane, along with Ajax, became the champion of the Netherlands.
Relocation to France
In the summer of 2015, Colbane decided to change something in his career and moved to France, to Nantes, who paid three million euros to Ajax for him. In Nantes, Sigthorsson did not show the results that he was famous for in Holland - in 29 matches he scored only four goals. Therefore, a year later it was decided to rent it to Galatasaray, where at the moment he had played two matches without scoring a single goal, and was injured, after which he is now recovering.
