Horses have long lost their practical purpose. They were replaced by cars, trains and planes. Now horses are accessible mainly to rich people and are used most often for sports. Ordinary citizens can only admire these harmonious and friendly (for the most part) creatures from afar. But centuries spent side by side with horses leave almost genetic memory; horses still awaken in us some feelings that, if you look, are no longer relevant in the modern world. And yet, even the most pragmatic person treats horses with respect, watches them with pleasure, and, if possible, does not mind taking a ride.
Horse breeds
We have already gone quite far both from nature and from farming. Somewhere in the villages there were people who remember how to use the same horses, but we are far from this. Riders are more attracted to city dwellers, where you can watch horses and amuse yourself with excitement. But only specialists and especially advanced lovers of these animals know that many horse abilities depend on the breed.
And if we limit ourselves to racehorses only, the variety of breeds can be confusing. There are Arabs, and Andalusians, and the Akhal-Teke breed, and Lippitsant ... you will not list all. And race opportunities depend on the breed - it was not for nothing that they were brought out, cherished endurance or the ability to tear from the start quickly (for short distances). We are no longer talking about heavy trucks or workhorses - now they are used only in rural areas.
The origin of the friezes
So what is a frieze? First of all, it is a very ancient breed of horses. It was bred by the Dutch, and its cultivation began during the time of the Crusades. The formation of friezes was influenced primarily by the ancient heavy trucks, then the blood of the eastern horses joined, and after them, the Andalusians. It was from them that the breed of horses "frieze" got a small head, a "swan" neck and a beautiful step. The breeders paid special attention to the fact that the English breed did not influence the Frisians.
What is a frieze of later times? He participated in the breeding of many famous horse breeds. The most famous are the German oldenburgs and the English Shire breed, which was widely used in the creation of the best breeds of trotters.
Species
Like all thoroughbred horses, this kind of horse also has its own characteristics. It is not difficult to remember what a frieze is and how it looks. In addition to the already noted small head, they have a long mane and tail, outstanding โgrandmasโ (because of which the breed got its name). The main color of the horses is black, not uncommon and just dark colors, the main condition is no white stripes or spots on the legs or body.
A funny incident is connected with the color that frieze horses should have. Absolutely purebred mothers and fathers who have the right color can have a white foal. Nor is he an albino. Horse lovers and breeders sometimes even argue whether to attribute such a "joke of nature" to friezes. Most are inclined to believe that yes, since the other pedigree features of such horses are impeccable. Just a non-standard color. Although many horses have never seen what a white frieze is, this phenomenon is quite rare.
