The word "chubuk" in Russian refers to a group of homonyms, therefore, it has several meanings. This term does not refer to frequently used in everyday speech, so many may ask: "What is a chubuk?" We will consider the answers to it below.

Most of those who still know the word "chubuk" associate it with pipes. Indeed, the continuation of the bowl with the tobacco chamber is a chubuk. Its main function is to conduct smoke. For this reason, it is sometimes confused with the mouthpiece. However, this is not entirely true. One end of the mouthpiece is hermetically connected to the chubuk, and the other smoker holds in his mouth.
The fashion for smoking tobacco came to Europe from America. The Indians used the kaolinite mineral, also called tube stone, to make their pipes. Later they were made from various materials: stone, wood, gourd pumpkin, porcelain, sea foam, clay and even corn cob. At the same time, individual parts of the smoking pipe could be made of metal, in particular a cork.
Until the middle of the last century, pipes were distributed quite widely, until they were replaced by more practical cigarettes. Today, the demand for pipes is small. But many famous personalities, as well as fictional characters, were their fans: Commissioner Megre, Peter I, Sherlock Holmes, Sebastian Bach, Albert Einstein and the beloved Crocodile Gena.

To the question of what a chubuk is, there are other answers. For example, Chubuk is also called a snow ram. These artiodactyls live in Kamchatka and in Eastern Siberia.
In addition, the word "Chubuk" is well known to winegrowers. This is the name of the cuttings of the fruiting year-old vine. Green chubuki grapes are cut in early autumn, and the length of this shoot can reach as much as 10, so 70 cm.
Cuttings must have at least three kidneys. They are stored until spring in a cool place, then germinated in pots before planting in open ground.
