Description

Looking at the photo of Nevinnomyssky Nitrogen, one involuntarily imbues respect for the enterprise. Its incredible size makes you think about how much labor and means, tangible and intangible, are invested in its creation. How many strengths and skills are required to not only maintain order, but to carry out efficient and profitable production.

The plant takes the fourth position in the country in terms of ammonia production and the first - in nitrogen fertilizers. 95% of urea-ammonia mixtures and over 50% of complex NPK fertilizers are produced at Nevinnomyssky Nitrogen. The giant of chemistry is the pride of the industry of the Stavropol Territory. His workshops produce the widest range of products, some of which are not produced anywhere else in Russia.

Although the main consumers are domestic chemical enterprises, farms, medical facilities and laboratories, a significant amount of production (mainly fertilizers) is exported. Among the partners of the plant are companies from 35 countries, and this list is expanding.

Historical reference

Nevinnomyssky Nitrogen has been operating since August 2, 1962. This summer evening, factory workers synthesized the first batch of ammonia. During August, a number of industries were launched, which formed the backbone of the enterprise. However, the construction of the giant plant began in 1954.

Subsequent years of capacity constantly increased, and the range of products expanded. Until the end of the 60s, the production of butyl alcohols, nitrate, weakly concentrated nitric and sebocic acids, acetylene, and other components was mastered. Important achievements were the commissioning of a urea plant and the launch of a second ammonia plant.

Since 1970, the production of complex fertilizers began, and from 1973, vinyl acetate. 07/03/1976 a section of methanol was launched. In the 80s, the technology for producing fertilizers improved - complex preparations appeared, including in liquid form.

Nowadays

By the beginning of the 90s, the equipment of the workshops erected back in the 50-60s had worn out. A number of industries are decommissioned. A large-scale reconstruction of the entire production base was required. After the corporatization of Nevinnomyssk Nitrogen and subsequent transition to the powerful international organization EuroChem, funds for modernization appeared.

Today, the plant remains the leader in the production of fertilizers and a number of chemicals. The life of the hundred thousandth city of Nevinnomyssk depends on its β€œhealth”, since the enterprise is a city-forming one. However, given the importance of the products, there is no doubt that with due attention to the introduction of new technologies and environmental programs, the plant will provide Russian farmers and the chemical industry with high-quality goods for a long time to come.
