Andrey Yarmolenko: a brief biography

Yarmolenko Andrey - football player of the Dynamo club (Kiev) and the national team of Ukraine. On the field can act on the position of a flank midfielder or striker. Usually plays on the left flank in midfield or attack. This is due to the fact that the football player has a left leg. Andrei's trainers have always noted the large amount of work that he performs during any game, regardless of its status.

Childhood

Andrey Yarmolenko, whose photos are presented below, was born on October 23, 1989 in the city of Leningrad. His parents are natives of the village of Smolyanka, Chernihiv region (Ukraine), and went to the Northern capital to work immediately after the wedding. Three years after the birth of Andrei, they returned to their homeland and settled in Chernigov. According to the memoirs of the athlete’s mother, his son began to show interest in the ball at the age of four.

First football steps

As a child, Andrei Yarmolenko spent a lot of time playing with the ball. Once, during this lesson, coach Nikolai Lisovoy accidentally noticed him, after which he immediately invited the boy to study at a local football school. Many of Andrei's friends went there, so he agreed. Over time, the guy became a player in the youth of the Chernihiv "Youth". At the age of thirteen, he entered the football academy of the Ukrainian grandee club Dynamo. A year later, Andrei was forced to return to his native Chernigov, because he could not stand the competition. Here he began performing as part of the local Desna.

Dynamo (Kiev)

When Yarmolenko was sixteen years old, he was again called to Dynamo. Then the players were trained by Anatoly Demyanenko. The first two years, the guy performed in the backup. The mentor himself repeatedly spoke positively of the young man as a football player with a great future, however, under his leadership, Andrei never played a single match. The match against the Vorskla club from Poltava, which took place on May 11, 2008, became a game when Andrei Yarmolenko made his debut as part of the main team. Dynamo in 2009 was headed by Valery Gazzaev. With this coach, the footballer began to regularly perform in the “basis”.

At first, in official games, Andrei often squandered 100% scoring chances. Because of this, he was strongly criticized not only by the press, but also by the fans of the team. Despite everything, Valery Gazzaev continued to bet on him. An interesting incident occurred on March 15, 2010 when, after another failed match, a football player refused an after-match interview with a journalist of one of the TV channels with the words: “I am not a football player”. This caused another wave of sarcasm and jokes addressed to him. Be that as it may, the mentor's confidence had positive results: Andrey Yarmolenko progressed in terms of technology and football intelligence. The player himself later recalled that at the first training game Valery Georgievich put him on the left flank of defense. After the end of that “two-way”, the guy went to the mentor, apologized and said that in this position he does not receive any pleasure from football. Nothing was answered to him, and the situation did not change. A few months later, Andrei was transferred to midfield, and only then, according to him, he realized that the head coach did this only so that he could play along the entire flank and, if necessary, work out on the defensive.

When in 2011 Gazzaev was replaced by Yuri Semin, the player’s place in the starting lineup was no longer disputed. Currently, Andrey has grown into a leader not only of his team, but also of the national team. Not surprisingly, the coaches of many European teams would like to see this player in their squad.

It took the player only 18 minutes to distinguish himself with his first goal scored. Ukraine then won with a score of 5: 0. In November 2014, Andrei made his first (and so far the only) hat-trick for the Ukrainian national team against Luxembourg.
