In addition, communication with foreigners is gaining popularity, so it is often necessary to switch languages. There are no problems with this if you have only 2 languages to use. But if there are more of them, then it becomes necessary to follow a special panel. Often, users of Windows 7 lose the language bar, which makes working with a computer difficult. What is a language bar?
There is nothing special about it - it's an icon in the notification area. This panel displays the language in which text is typed on your computer. Usually, the first two letters of its English version are used for designation. In most cases, switching between two languages is standardly possible: Russian and English.
How to switch languages?
There are two ways to switch from one language to another. Both of them are quite simple. The first way is to left-click on the language bar and then select the desired language. So, after clicking the mouse you need to go to the "Options", a window with three tabs will open in front of you. The default language will be selected in the General tab. By default, it means that when you go into any program that you can use to enter text, this language will be available to you in the first place. The rest will appear at your disposal only after switching. If you add many languages, then this is the method that will be more convenient for you. The second method is more familiar to everyone. To switch languages, you need to press a certain combination of buttons on the keyboard. It is prescribed when installing the operating system. If you forgot it, then left-click on the language bar, go to "Options", then to
"Switch keyboard." Here you will find the desired key combination.
How to add languages to the language bar?
To do this, go to the "Options" section that is already familiar to you, then to the "General" tab. In order to set the language, click on the "Add" button and find the desired one in the list that opens. Do not add too many languages at once. It will be very tiring to switch between them.
Language bar
We looked at two tabs in the Options window. There was one more - "Language bar". If you accidentally click somewhere here, it turns out that you no longer have a language bar. Windows 7, of course, is a smart operating system, so this problem can be solved. You will learn about how to do this a bit later. In general, this tab controls where the language bar will be located on your screen, and how it will look. Do you want to pin it in the "Taskbar" or make it freely move around the screen? Depending on this, you choose how it suits you - this is done in this tab.
If you accidentally missed, and instead of "Parameters" you selected "Close the language bar", and now you can’t find it, then we will discuss below ways to correct this situation.
Automatically make changes to the registry
This method may seem complicated, but in fact it is simple and effective. In order to restore the Windows 7 language bar, you will need to copy special text into Notepad. It is standard, and finding it is not difficult.
Keep this document. Please note that you must fix the file extension from .txt to .reg. You can call it whatever you like. Reboot the computer. With the next system boot, the language bar should reappear.
Manually make changes to the registry
Restoring the language bar (Windows 7) in this way will require a little more effort. Attention will need the same careful. Any mistake can lead to the fact that you have to reinstall the operating system on your device. So, go to "Start", enter regedit in the search bar. Next, select the folders in this order: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Windows -> CurrentVersion -> Run. You can pause here. Check if you have reached the address, and then right-click on Run, create a new string parameter by clicking on the appropriate command. Choose the name CTFMon. After the parameter appears, right-click on it, select "Change", enter this code: ctfmon.exe. Your language bar will be displayed again.
Punto switcher
If you are a lazy Windows 7 user, the language bar disappears quite often, and for completely unthinkable reasons, then do not worry again and download the Punto Switcher program. It will be very convenient if you do not use any languages other than Russian and English. With this program you will not have an urgent need for a language bar.
Task Scheduler
If you are a very attentive user of Windows 7, the language bar disappears for an unknown reason that you would like to know, because you did not close it even by accident, then here's another explanation. Perhaps the service that was responsible for the language bar stopped working for you. In order to check this, you need to right-click on the "My Computer" shortcut, find and select "Management". A window will open on the screen, find the "Services" tab. Find the "Task Scheduler" in it, right-click on it, go to "Properties", select the "General" tab. Check if the value "Automatically" is in the field opposite "Startup type". If not, then it is necessary to affix it. After that, the computer will be able to display the language bar (Windows 7).
