Three years ago
This happened in 2012 in the Kuban. On July 4, it rained heavily here. From 6 to 7, at three in the morning (when people were sleeping), water suddenly began to accumulate on the streets of Krymsk. And after 10 minutes, her level jumped several meters. Completely flooded the first floors of houses. More than 3-5 months of rainfall spilled onto the earth in just these two days. Most affected Krymsk. In it, water rose 4-7 meters.
One of the reasons for the disaster was called a very bad storm sewer in the streets or even its absence. Then
in the Krasnodar Territory 171 people died, more than 34 thousand were injured. Specialists from Russia issued the status of “outstanding” to this flood. Foreigners regarded it as a "flash flood."
Whatever it was, but the scale of this disaster was such that July 9, 2012 declared mourning throughout the country. The celebration of Family Day, love and fidelity, falling on this number, was canceled.
Trouble again
Thunderstorms began in the regional center in the evening of June 23, 2015. They walked for several hours in a row; Krasnodar did not expect anything very bad at all. Are there many showers? Short and long. This often happens in the summer. However, this time there was a real flood in Krasnodar. On the night of the 24th, in just an hour and a half, the monthly rainfall fell. Street collectors quickly fill up to the top. And dirty streams poured out. Instantly flooded the underground passages at the stadium "Kuban" and on the street 40 years of Victory. Gomel’s just became like a river.
The element paralyzed the traffic. Trolleybuses did not go for a long time. Trams also stopped. Private cars were almost flooded with water.
150 applications
Krasnodar did not sleep at night. An emergency meeting was held at the administration. And soon, utilities quickly set to work. Until the morning eliminated the effects of rain. They were joined by firefighters in their "combat" vehicles. Thus, more than 20 pieces of different rescue equipment were involved.
Water-pumping pumps worked without interruption in the streets of P. Metalnikov and Dachnaya. Also at the intersections of st. Turgenev and Far, Novorossiysk and Seleznev. In total, during that turbulent night, the townspeople called the brigades to pump water 147 times. By morning, almost 100, or rather 99, workers completed applications.
The headquarters for the elimination of the elements promised to increase the number of water-pumping machines in the most problematic points of the city.
Without light
But it turned out badly that the flood in Krasnodar flooded the electrical substation (it is located on Topolina). Many houses were without electricity: on the street. Gavrilov, also the Russian and Highway Neftyannikov, on May 1, Yesenin and Dzerzhinsky. The lights went out on the streets going from the Aurora (cinema) to the street. Budyonny. Here, too, the electrical substation is "wet". This was reported by eyewitnesses. Many then sat in apartments in complete darkness, and even without water in the taps. And only unsuccessfully tried to escape from the dirty streams that rushed into the living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens.
In general, repair in those days was subject to no less - 160 substations! After all, the flood in Krasnodar deprived of electricity not only the regional center, but also the villages in the district. Specialists, given the dramatic circumstances, worked tirelessly. And they promised to light the streets and houses in two to three hours.
Hot Spots
Everyone had a hard time. The flood in Krasnodar is a natural disaster. And it does not spare either old or small. The thunderstorm front and heavy rainfall on June 23 and 24 brought a lot of trouble to residents in the Absheron, Otradnensky, Labinsky and Mostovsky districts. But only later it became clear that the flood in Krasnodar was the largest of all that was in the settlements of the Kuban.
And in the regional center, Moskovskaya Street was in the most critical position. Even earlier, on June 17, there was already flooding here, when in less than an hour it all went under water. One could walk down the street only by taking off his shoes and rolling his trousers above his knees.
Moreover, those living in this microdistrict were cut off from the outside world. It was impossible to drive by car. Moreover, for many people cars were half filled with water. These are expensive jeeps, and cars are simpler. Some of them can be taken directly to the landfill. The engine does not start at all. Yes, and inside the seats - water. And those drivers who have realized that they can quickly drive their cars from the street into the yards are now unable to leave them.
Local residents assured that then, at the most difficult moment of the flood, not a single pumping equipment came to them. This special transport arrived only on June 18 in the afternoon. But until the end of the moisture has not disappeared.
It only got worse
And who would have thought then that the flood threat in Krasnodar has not been eliminated?
Exactly a week later, after heavy rains that occurred on the 23-24th, the situation on Moskovskaya became even worse. Another huge mass of water poured onto moist soil. They started pumping it out - the pumps broke. True, the workers were able to quickly repair them.
All this seriously worried the city authorities. It is no accident that the repeated flood in Krasnodar on Moskovskaya forced them to find money (they decided to take it from the reserve) and put them into the construction of a new pumping station. She, according to the city administration, should earn in a month.
The fact is that one such enterprise already exists in Gomel. This is a 360 cc pump. m / hour. However, they plan to put in the same microdistrict a more powerful (800 cubic meters) chamber for receiving water and lay the newest pipeline. According to assurances of experts, all this will take 2-3 weeks. And the synchronous operation of both stations (old and newly built) will eliminate flooding in this place much faster.
Reasons and measures of salvation
Moskovskaya street is generally long-suffering. After literally every rain, it turns into a sea. Why? Krasnodar journalists asked this question to the city leaders. It turns out that they tried to solve this problem back in 2014. Then, at the corner of Moscow and Gomel, a pump station was installed. But when heavy rain broke on June 17, 2015, the street again “floated”. And with the even greater flow that happened on June 23-24, neither the station itself, together with the storm sewer, nor the pipe managed to cope.
Yes, in the city, which was captured by the elements, the authorities temporarily changed the bus routes. They moved where else it was possible to drive. Other measures were taken urgently.
But if from time to time there is a likelihood of flooding in Krasnodar, then why do we have to wait many years in a row in inaction for it to arrive without doing anything in advance? Apparently, they live according to the proverb: "Until the thunder strikes, the man will not cross himself."
