Sliding partition - a useful and effective find for the designer, using which you can simulate the space by creating isolated rooms or hiding the kitchen or bedroom for a while.
Unlike sliding doors, partitions have large dimensions of paintings. Their width exceeds 1800 mm, and the height is usually more than 2300 mm. The sliding partition is developed strictly individually and is completed at the factory - unlike the door, which can be modified after the acquisition by equipping with a roller mechanism.
Purpose of use:
- closing a wide opening;
- division of the room into separate parts;
- creation of several isolated rooms.
A sliding partition is easily installed in a renovated apartment, its placement does not need to be coordinated with the housing inspection and changes to the BTI plan are also not required.
They make the product only to order. The client must first familiarize themselves with the assortment in the catalog and select the model they like.
Movement mechanisms
The mechanism is hidden in a niche or behind the screen, but its importance for the design is very high, as it provides softness and reliability. Two systems are known. This is an "accordion" and a suspension on casters.
Mechanism with roller suspension
It consists of rollers and a pencil case. The roller mechanism has the required diameter and rolling bearings, so that the entire structure is easy to move and can withstand heavy loads. Different line of rollers are designed for different loads, so they are selected depending on the material and weight of the canvas, otherwise the mechanism will quickly fail. This system has such a drawback as the swinging of the lower, not fixed, part of the sliding partition. To eliminate the drawback, use devices such as flags (which are installed in the lower end), staples on the bottom of the sash, rollers on the springs for more reliable adhesion to the floor, synchronizers for the simultaneous movement of all paintings.
Sliding partitions "accordion"
This mechanism combines swing and sliding opening systems. Sashes with a wall jamb and among themselves are connected by means of loops. The upper part of the lintel is equipped with guides along which the sliding partition moves with the help of rollers.
The disadvantage of this system is poor sound insulation. It can be fixed by applying noise absorbing pads and brush seals.
Partition Design
The sliding partition is equipped with a web consisting of a frame and sheet material. The frame most often used is steel, aluminum, wood (oak, beech). Particleboard (veneered or laminated) are used as filling material. Sliding glass partitions can be tinted, decorative, with photo printing or mirror. The execution style can also be any (at the option of the customer).
Classics are frames from aluminum profiles or laminated wood. For filling - patterned glass or chipboard. Art Deco - glass in bright colors, which is combined with the technique of stained glass and photo printing techniques. Ethnic style - frame made of wood. Material for filling - rattan weaving or noble fabric. The sliding partition in the style of minimalism is simple or tinted glass paintings without a frame, devoid of any decor.
