The question is not entirely non-existent: the cost of building materials only increases every year, so everyone wants to save some money. Of course, you need to reduce costs wisely, since quality should not suffer much. In this article, we will consider several options for how you can save on building a fence near your country house.
Tree
Of course, this option comes to mind first. In principle, everything is true: wood is relatively cheap, there is almost everywhere, and processing it is relatively simple. That's just not all as simple as it seems at first glance.
Option one - a wooden picket fence. It costs about 500-1000 rubles per cubic meter (depending on the area), and sometimes it can even be bought for a penny. As a rule, it is a departure from the production of edged and unedged boards. Almost always made from coniferous wood.
Advantages - low price, availability. The disadvantages are much greater. So, the quality of the picket can be very, very low. Of the ten veins, more or less direct sometimes turns out to be no more than half. About sticking out knots, chips and streaks of resin and say no.

Thus, it is more profitable to make a fence of unedged material. Of course, provided that you have a tool for processing it. If you treat wood with antiseptic compounds, then such a fence can serve you for a very long time. So, the ends of the columns are best treated with molten tar and wrap with roofing material. The cost of these materials is cheap, and the benefits from them are great.
All of these options have one, but very significant, drawback. The fact is that in the classic version, the veins are fixed on poles buried in the ground. In most cases, people simply do not think about treating the latter with some kind of protective compounds, as a result of which the tree rots literally in a year or two. Not too economical ...
So what is cheaper to make a fence from?
Wooden pallets
This option is suitable only if you do not have the opportunity to purchase other material for the fence. Surely almost everywhere there is an opportunity to get pallets that are used to transport bricks, packages of frozen meat and fish, as well as other goods. They can be found near wholesale stores and other retail facilities.

As a rule, about 60-70% of such pallets are made of waste materials, but sometimes they come across those for the manufacture of which went high-quality board and other lumber. They need to be looked for. We immediately warn that it is difficult to disassemble such structures: mounting nails (with screw thread) are often used there, and therefore the boards often break and crack when trying to remove them.

Galvanized metal
You can make a fence from corrugated board. To do this, you need to buy all the same metal columns, profile 40x25, as well as the cheapest galvanized metal of these brands: MP20, C21, C8. We recommend buying C8, as it is the widest: you will need much fewer sheets to cover the entire span of the fence. We dig in or concrete columns, we fasten transverse profiles, we fasten galvanized metal with screws.
But what about the costs? To calculate the required volume of material, you will need to perform some simple mathematical calculations: firstly, the length of the fence should be divided into three (so the required number of pipes is calculated). Next, divide the length of the fence by 1.15 (width C8), after which we get the required number of sheets of galvanized metal.
The cost of such a fence will be about 1.5 times more than the above options, but its appearance and durability will be much better. Alternatively, you can simply buy galvanized metal classified as defective. It costs much cheaper, and its quality is slightly worse than ordinary products.
Asbestos cement and other tricks
How to make sure that the fence is not too different from the wooden one in cost, and in terms of reliability not inferior to the metal structure? There is such an option. We take asbestos-cement columns of the brand BNT 100 * 2.95 m, the cost of which does not exceed 200 rubles apiece, we dig them one meter into the ground. We fill the columns with sand or ASG, we make fastenings for veins. As a material for the fence, you can use a picket fence, unedged board or disassembled wooden pallets.
Mesh netting and metal corner
If you want to make a fence with your own hands, but do not want to mess with boards or galvanized metal, we offer you this option. However, you can buy a plastic version of it, which is many times cheaper.

Since we have repeatedly said that the durability of any fence is primarily affected by the pillars used in its construction, we will now discuss their proper installation. If you fool around on this issue, then you simply throw away your money and labor.
First, it is very important to correctly mark the place where your fence will be located. We drive in the pegs on the border, after which we pull the cord tight between them. If you plan to make a monolithic foundation, carefully dig the boundaries of the future foundation. In the case when it is not planned to be done, twine should be pulled over the entire period of work. As a rule, the pillars themselves dig in at a distance of two to three meters from each other.
For the foundation, it’s enough to dig a small groove, the depth of which will be approximately 30-40 cm, and a width of not more than 20 cm. Pour eight centimeters of sand on the bottom, then compact it carefully. Next, a similar layer of rubble is poured, after which everything is neatly rammed. If you have on hand unnecessary pieces of metal, then you should not dismiss the creation of a reinforced frame.
Pits under the pillars should be much deeper than the trench under the fence foundation. Those of the columns on which the gate or gate will be hung, it is preferable to dig at least one meter into the ground. At the bottom of the pits we also pour crushed stone and sand, ramming them. How to mount the fence canvas
After installing the pillars that have been pre-treated with antiseptic solutions, you can proceed with the installation of the canvas. Here you can do the work in two ways at once. In the first case, the veins are first attached to the posts, and only then shtaketin or other material is nailed to them. In the second case, the rails are first attached to the finished veins. The finished canvas in this case only remains to be fixed on the pillars.
In the first option, you can do all the work alone, while the second method involves an assistant (or better two). As soon as you put up the fence, its canvas should be carefully treated with stain or drying oil. After these compositions have dried, various decorative elements can be attached to the fence.
