Tyumen is the capital of Siberia, one of the largest cities in Russia. In recent years, an active change in the appearance of the city has been observed: old buildings are being restored, new facilities are appearing, ideas are being developed on improving the infrastructure. One of these facilities was the Sports Palace. Tyumen cannot boast of a large number of such stadiums. After the global restoration, it became known as the "Center for Sports Training." It is the city’s first ice arena and home to the Rubin hockey team. This is one of the most popular places of leisure among residents of the city.

The stadium was built in 1971 and then was called "Spartak". A little more than ten years later, the reconstruction of the building began, which was completed only in 1988. Thanks to such changes, the stadium has become a full-scale sports complex, which made it suitable for competitions in various sports.

The Tyumen Sports Palace can rightfully be considered assembled by forces around the world. Its designs and components were delivered from all over the then USSR. A curious fact: roof ceilings are made of the same material that is used in the construction of aircraft.

Today, the Sports Palace (Tyumen) is the city’s first ice arena and home arena for the Rubin hockey team. Comfortable stands accommodate a large number of spectators; thanks to the reconstruction, an additional 200 seats have appeared. There was another memorable page in the history of the construction: at the beginning of the 2000s, the country's judo championship was held here.
