And where exactly is the cosmonautics museum at the All-Russian Exhibition Center? How to get to it? Is there parking there? Will it be interesting with children too? Here, perhaps, is not a complete list of questions that are almost constantly asked by the Muscovites themselves, who finally allotted time for active recreation with the whole family, and, of course, guests of the Russian capital. Let's try to answer them in more detail.
Space Museum. general description
Who in childhood did not dream of being an astronaut and flying to the stars? The secrets of the Universe have always beckoned with their vastness, and the cosmos was ultimately successfully conquered by humanity. The entire history of this conquest can be seen in a special Cosmonautics Museum, founded in the early 80s of the last century.
The museum is located at the foot of the Conquerors of Space monument near the VDNKh metro station and the All-Russian Exhibition Center. His collections contain archives and personal belongings of the pioneers of the national cosmonautics (Tsiolkovsky, Zander and Korolev) and the first astronauts.
Among the exhibits are the first satellite, stuffed squirrels and Strelka, a capsule for dogs of Koziavka and Brave, soil samples from the moon, the descent vehicle of the Vostok spaceship, on which Yuri Gagarin landed, etc. By the way, not everyone knows that the cosmonautics museum at the All-Russian Exhibition Center presents spacecraft that have not returned from space in the form of exact copies.
In addition to museum items is the beautiful design of the halls and the showing of 3D films. In memory of the tour, you can purchase thematic souvenirs: food for astronauts, medals from metal ships, etc.

Museum History
In November 1964, a monument to the Conquerors of Space was unveiled in Moscow, during the design of which the premises for a space-themed museum were provided. The idea of ββcreating such an exhibition belonged to the famous designer S.P. Korolev. In September 1967, a corresponding decree of the
CPSU Central Committee on the organization of the Cosmonautics Museum in the premises of the monument was issued.
A little later, in front of him created the Alley of Space Heroes . Now this is a favorite vacation spot not only for local residents, but also for many tourists. Children can ride on skates, a scooter or a bicycle here, which they do with enormous pleasure at the first opportunity.
The opening of the museum was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the flight of Yu. Gagarin into space and took place in April 1981. It should be noted that the Cosmonautics Museum in those days occupied an area of ββ3200 square meters, of which only 800 square meters were used. More than 100 exhibits were exhibited in the halls, including samples of space technology and cosmonaut equipment.
To date, more than 85,000 items are stored in museum collections. In May 2006, the museum was closed for reconstruction, after which an additional area of ββ4,500 square meters appeared. After 3 years in April, the opening of a new and very interesting exposition took place. This helped to attract even more inquisitive guests.
Cosmonautics Museum at the All-Russian Exhibition Center. Visitors reviews
Most visitors to this place note that after the reconstruction the museum has clearly changed for the better. Exhibition halls have become much more spacious and modern. More exhibits appeared, created conditions for visiting people with disabilities, which, you see, is very important. Now you can look here as if by accident, during a walk. There is storage space for bicycles and prams.
The exhibition halls have guides to the museum, and all information about space objects can be obtained on interactive panels.
A cafe has been organized for children, where you can not only have a bite to eat, but also have a hearty meal. Prices are moderate, as they are designed for people of different social strata.
The surrounding area has also become more interesting, I want to visit it without even going to the exhibition. Even on weekdays, on benches you can meet vacationers of different ages.
