One of the most interesting genres of world literature recognized folk tales. They do not have a specific author, however, reading this or that work, one can get some idea of the ethnos and life of the people who composed it. We will learn how the ancients treated a variety of animals, natural phenomena inherent in a particular climate zone; how they interacted and understood this nature. But nevertheless, in the first place is the eternal struggle of epic heroes with universal evil (like "Fight on the viburnum bridge", for example). Methods and style of struggle depend on the national component of a folk tale. Arabian tales tell about the struggle of brave heroes with numerous evil genies. And Europeans tell of the exploits of glorious knights who save innocent people from evil dragons and demons.
Fairy tale - a reflection of people's lives
When reading folk tales, one involuntarily perceives precisely that national essence, which is determined by a concrete history. Oriental, for example, amaze with the luxury of describing the lifestyle of rich people. Western European make you think about saving and frugality. The Russians put in the basis the human qualities endowed by the heroes of different classes (even the names emphasize this: "Ivan is the peasant's son and the miracle of judo"). But in any case, humanity, on a subconscious level, seeks to become better, to defeat, first of all in itself, many vices and impurities in order to triumph over evil.
This is especially noticeable in Russian folk tales. They are based on the personal qualities of the hero, and then the impact of the environment is already described. Very often the heroes of Russian fairy tales come from ordinary people who, by virtue of magical or natural circumstances, suddenly become wealthy people. But being already in a new capacity, they, as a rule, retain all the positive traits of their character. This emphasizes that concepts such as honesty, decency, loyalty, kindness are priority for every Russian person.
Prophetic dream
The Russian folk tale "Fight on the Kalinovy Bridge" is just about all of the above. Let's remember the details. As in many folk tales, in this work everything begins with a description of the kingdom itself. And everything in this kingdom is good, everything is settled. But the rulers of the state have some problems. The thing is that the king and the queen have no heirs. It is clear that the thoughts of the empress are occupied only with this.
And then one day she had a wonderful dream. Allegedly, not far from the royal palace there is a quiet pond. There lives a magical ruff fish with a golden tail. The dream is very realistic and the queen sees everything as in reality. In a dream, she realizes that if you eat this fish, then immediately there will be an opportunity to become pregnant. And to be sure that a boy will be born.
Golden Tail Miracle
What happens next in the fairy tale “Fight on the Kalinovy Bridge”? The Queen’s plan is very simple: do not waste time and check out a wonderful dream. She tells her impressions to her husband, and he sends a whole artel of skilled fishermen to find a pond and to catch, if there is one, a ruff with a golden tail.
And indeed, after some time, exactly where the tsarina described, the men discovered not only a pond, but also an unusual ruff floating in it. They were experienced fishermen, so after a few minutes the miracle fish was caught and delivered with honors to the palace.
Curiosity is not a vice
The tale “Fight on the Kalinovy Bridge” is quite simple, but both good and not very character traits of people are noticed in it. The queen was very happy about this fact and ordered to cook an unusual fish immediately. However, you can only entrust such an important matter to an approximate person. Therefore, she orders her maid of honor - the priest's daughter - to personally monitor the process. In turn, the maid of honor entrusts the preparation of a ruff with a golden tail to a nun girl. Closely observing what is happening, the priest's daughter is tormented by curiosity: what is so unusual about this fish. After all, never before was a simple ruff prepared with such difficulties and warnings.
Unable to resist, the maid of honor of the queen tears off a piece of fin from the ruff on the left side and eats it. But carried away by thoughts of beautiful fish, she forgot that she was not alone in the kitchen. Seeing that the priest's daughter ate part of the fish, the nun also decided to try it. She eats a piece of fin on the right side. Then, of course, the ruff was served to the queen, who ate it with great appetite. Well done, they were surprised, and then they chose war horses and weapons that everyone liked. As it should be, in the fairy tale “Fight on the Kalinovy Bridge” (illustrations to which we have been familiar from childhood), the heroes chose weapons and harness on the basis of descent. Of course, after the tsarina’s story, three heroes gather on the road. After a while, they arrive at the Kalinovy Bridge. The young men looked around and marveled at the consequences of the attack of enemy snakes on Russian soil. Everything in the area was burned and strewn with human bones.
The fact that it would be necessary to accept the battle on the Kalinovy Bridge was beyond doubt. Not far from the bridge the warriors discovered a hut on chicken legs; in it and decided to stop and wait. After conferring before going to bed, the soldiers decided to put up a guard. The first was appointed Ivan the Tsar’s son. Walking in front of the bridge, Ivan Tsarevich listened for silence for a long time, playing with his golden sword. But nothing happened. Relaxing, the prince soon dozed off under a tree.
Three nights - three mortal battles
But Ivan the peasant son did not sleep at all. In alarm, he took up his weapon and followed his named brother. And not in vain. Just at that moment, the first serpent with six heads appeared. Realizing that the prince did not wake up, Ivan the peasant son entered the battle on the Kalinov bridge. Heroic power helped destroy the monster. Ivan hid the heads that he chopped off from the snake, not wanting to reveal his actions before the deadline. Tsarevich was sleeping so soundly that he did not hear the battle.
On the second night, the priest's son was on duty. And again the story repeated. He knocked the hero’s dream deep at night. And Ivan the peasant son again came to the rescue. But this time, the monster who wanted to cross the river was already with nine heads. The battle on the Kalinov bridge was hot. The hero had a hard time: nine goals were mercilessly fired by fire. However, Ivan managed, destroyed the snake. And again, like last time, he hid the heads of the miracle of Judah. Awakened Ivan Popovich, too, did not see anything suspicious for his duty.
Frustrated by the fact that the prince and the priest overslept and did not notice the enemy, Ivan the peasant son tells them about the battle on the Kalinov bridge and leads both mountain warriors to look at the severed heads of the snakes. Brothers do not need to be reproached either: they are upset by their own inaction.
The last fight - it’s the hardest
The Russian folk tale “Fight on the Kalinovy Bridge” continues with the fact that on the third night the line of duty of Ivan the peasant son is suitable. He is going for a long time, preparing, perhaps, for his last battle. Before leaving, he asks his friends to listen to his signals, so that it doesn’t work out like in the past.
The hero was preparing for a reason. This time a monster with twelve heads flew in. Ivan the peasant son and miraculous judo fought with all their might. As in previous times, the young man managed to demolish a snake with his club. But this monster was able to restore them the same.
More than once or twice, Ivan called for help from the twin cities, but they slept soundly. Fending off with all his strength, he finally managed to send such a signal that awakened the heroes. The prince and the priest rush to the aid of Ivan the peasant's son. The monster who did not expect such a strong help was defeated.
A fairy tale is a lie, but a hint in it
