If you are thinking about installing or changing heating in a private house or cottage, you have to make a difficult choice between heating boilers. At the moment, there are several types of device data:
- Gas.
- Solid fuel.
- Combined boilers.
But note right away, if you have nowhere to store coal or you have no time to chop wood, it is better not to purchase the second type of device. Combined boilers are a good option. If you turn off the gas, there will always be an opportunity to heat the house with firewood, but, again, you should proceed from whether they will be at your fingertips at the right time and if they are ready to sacrifice the performance of these devices. Indeed, the efficiency of such heating systems is 20 percent lower than those that operate on the same type of fuel.
Moreover, this figure will not change even when you use only gas (20 percent of its volume will simply fly off βinto the pipeβ). Based on this, the only reasonable option would be to buy gas boilers. They are also divided into several categories. One of the most popular types is catalytic. How productive it is and how it differs, let's take a look.
Specifications
On average, the power of these heaters is about 2.9-3 kilowatts. In this case, the calculation of the power of these devices is as follows: 1 kilowatt of energy per 10 square meters of area. Thus, if this is a private house with an area of ββ150 m 2 , then for such a building it is necessary to install catalytic gas heaters with a capacity of at least 15 kW.
Fuel
Why is there practically no such devices with such power on the Russian market? The thing is that any gas catalytic heater (including Bartolini) does not work on natural methane, but on propane-butane gas, which is supplied in cylinders in a liquefied state. Thus, such an assembly is installed only as a temporary boiler and only in small rooms (for example, in the country). Due to its compactness it is easy to transport. An energy source (gas cylinder) is installed in its back.
Gas Catalytic Heater: Feature Reviews
Those who used these boilers in practice, are advised to purchase devices with the ability to work in turbo + mode. Such catalytic gas heaters are often equipped with an additional fan of 2 kilowatts, which increases the heating area by 2 times.
Main advantages and disadvantages
The main advantage of these devices is their high fire and explosion safety, as well as the ability to work without periodic maintenance for quite some time. And, of course, compactness, thanks to which it is possible to easily transport and install catalytic gas heaters in almost any room. But the inability to work on natural gas (methane) excludes the possibility of their operation as main boilers in large rooms. Therefore, catalytic gas heaters can only be used in the country or in the garage. In a private house, such boilers will be simply useless.
