Divya Cave

Attractions of Cherdyn include Divya Cave. It is located in a river valley, near the village of Nyrob. The cave belongs to its sights at the same time. The village is located near Cherdyn. Divya is the longest Ural cave. Its length is almost ten kilometers. In the cave there are many picturesque grottoes with small lakes. Walls and ceilings are covered with very beautiful stalagmites, stalactites and sap forms.

In the cave there are huge natural columns, the height of which reaches three and a half meters. And they are covered with cave pearls. Excursions to Divuy are not conducted. But it is open for free visits. A path from the river leads to it. The entrance to the cave is ninety meters high. This is a small oval hole.

Ethnographic Festival

In the summer season, the Call of Parma, an ethnographic festival, takes place in Cherdyn. On it, everyone can participate in bivouac competitions, shoot from a real bow or arrange a duel with swords. Festival guests are told how porridge is prepared from an ax, how to find and distinguish medicinal herbs and learn how to brew them correctly. Workshops are held on modeling clay and making amulets.

Popular with tourists is not only Cherdyn. Sights of Nyrob are no less interesting. This is a small village near Cherdyn. At the entrance there are active border columns. Nyrob gained the notoriety of the country of prisoners. Although there were few prisoners in the village. But the popularity of Nyrob owes to the capture of the boyar, Mikhail Romanov, back in the time of B. Godunov. At this event, the whole "skeleton" of the village’s tourism is built.

When the Romanov dynasty reigned on the throne, the village was declared a saint and was exempted from any taxes. In Nyrob, there is still a hole in which Mikhail Romanov was held in fetters. Then a wooden chapel was built on this place, and later an iconostasis was made for it. Then a fence appeared and a beautiful square around.

In Nyrob, another famous person was sent into exile - Voroshilov. Then, in Soviet times, the Romanov dynasty was forgotten. But in 2001, their memory was revived again. And on the site of a wooden chapel, a stone one is now built. The fence is decorated with royal attributes. A little later, the Romanov Memorial Center was built. The exhibits stored in it were made by local prisoners.
