When repairing or redecorating a room, one has to solve a number of issues related to the choice of materials for decoration. Now the assortment of offers is so wide that even experienced workers do not know all the possible options: almost every week something new appears in large construction stores.

Of course, now that they have already gained deserved popularity, the situation has fundamentally changed, and their predecessors on a simple paper basis are slowly fading into history. What is non-woven wallpaper
Translated from German, the word "non-woven" means "non-woven material." Its basis is not paper, but in a certain way compressed cellulose fibers, additionally glued with special additives.
Due to this, there is practically no change in the size of glued canvases, which paper wallpapers, especially of the lower price category, cannot “boast” of. In addition, the strength of non-woven is higher. The level of breathability is quite sufficient to call such a wallpaper "breathable."
There are several varieties of such wallpapers. So, on the market you can buy "non-woven construction" - these are rolls 1 m wide and 20-25 m long. In fact, this is real non-woven. The second type is non-woven wallpaper for painting. Unlike the first option, they have a palpable structure: thin enough to be lightweight, but at the same time durable, so as not to tear in the hands. Outwardly, the non-woven wallpaper for painting resembles a blotter paper from Soviet notebooks, with the only difference being that the volumetric print structure is whiter than the base. After sticking (by the way, glue is applied only to the base surface) and drying, the wallpaper must be painted. To do this, you can use a water-based paint. The optimal result is achieved with a double pass: along, and after drying of the layer, across glued rolls.
The third variety is represented by wallpaper in which the base is non-woven and the top layer is made of another material, for example, polyvinyl chloride (vinyl). These are finished products that do not require painting.

wallpaper for painting has a unique ability to hide microcracks. Let us dwell on this moment in more detail. Residents of private homes are well aware that even on perfectly plastered walls and ceilings cracks form over time. They can be very insignificant, but, nevertheless, noticeable. The situation is aggravated if mistakes were made during the construction of the house: weak foundation, allowing subsidence; incorrectly selected masonry material; violations of finishing technology. By the way, even such a seemingly reliable material as drywall can crack at the junction of sheets, even when using
reinforcing mesh and special putty. Having pasted non-woven wallpaper, you don’t have to worry that the crack that appears will damage the strip, as it would with paper options.
