Various designs with which heated houses or individual rooms do not lose their popularity. In recent years, Butakova furnaces have been popular. Such units consumes almost 10 times less fuel than similar devices. In this case, the heat transfer coefficient remains at a high level.
Compared to the primitive stove, Butakov’s inventions save almost 2 times the resource.
Design and principle of operation of the furnace
The principle of operation of Butakov's furnaces is based on the convection process. The heat-resistant cast iron grate ensures a long burning process and protects the rest of the installation from high temperatures. In case of failure, the grille can be replaced with a new one without any problems.
The grate ensures a uniform combustion process over the entire area of the furnace device and controls the air supply. In order to increase the air supply, just open the special window (the faster the combustion process occurs, the sooner the room will heat up).
Through the grate , the combustion products enter a special compartment, from where they are subsequently removed. Cleaning can be done directly during the operation of the furnace, because burning takes place in another compartment. The ash compartment is equipped with a “window” with which you can adjust the air supply.
Important! The furnace is not intended for long-term heat loads. Therefore, overheating above 350 ° C is not allowed.
The design of the above furnaces consists of:
- welded steel casing with integrated nozzles, due to which the convection process is carried out;
- convection pipes;
- grate bars.
Various combustible materials are used as fuel: firewood, briquettes, branches, etc.
An important feature is the flat upper part of the body, which can be used for cooking and heating water.
Features of Professor's Furnaces
Distinctive features of the furnaces of Professor Butakov in comparison with prototype structures:
- the burning time is up to 10 hours (this is possible due to the special design, which can significantly save on consumables);
- compact sizes and a wide model range allow to install furnaces in any room;
- special system for collecting combustion waste: condensate, which is formed in the process of fuel combustion, is not released into the environment, but goes back to the furnace, where it is burned again and does not leave processed products;
- capacity for ash: it can be cleaned of combustion products even during operation without harm to health;
- increased heat exchanger area: do not forget about this, because strong heating of the surface can cause burns or fires.
Important! Flammable objects must not be placed on a flat surface, because this may cause them to ignite.
Lineup and scope
The range of Butakov ovens has a lot of advantages. Also, each unit is made in a stylish design and fits almost any interior.
Different capacities allow installing furnaces both in compact pantries and houses, as well as in production and in large workshops.
The furnace of Professor Butakov "Grammar school student"
An important feature of this model is its layout: a special hob is mounted in the upper part of the case (for example, in the gymnasium-2 and gymnasium-3 stove). Other models do not have such devices.
Important! The absence of cooking surfaces does not affect the performance of other models and does not interfere with cooking food (or boiling water) on them.
Smoke exhaust through the upper part of the body. This can significantly save space in the room.
Among the disadvantages of this modification are:
- return of soot and condensate back to the furnace;
- inconvenience in cleaning the chimney (with each cleaning it has to be pulled out of the furnace).
In the modification of Butakova’s gymnasium “Gymnasist-1” there is no cooking surface.
The main characteristics of these models are:
- power - 5 kW;
- Efficiency - 8.5;
- the area of the heated room is up to 100 m³;
- weight - 34 kg;
- dimensions (LxWxD) - 40x50x50 cm;
- wall thickness - 2.5 mm;
- the volume of the furnace is 60 l;
- the diameter of the chimney is 11.5 cm;
Student’s Butakova heating stove
The most common model is considered to be “Student”. This stove is ideal for country houses, cottages and modern houses. The heating furnace is equipped with pipes of a larger diameter, while the thickness of their walls is reduced (this can significantly increase heat transfer, up to 70%).
The chimney is discharged through the rear wall of the housing, attached through a tee. This engineering solution allows you to clean the chimney without disconnecting from the stove.
Before cleaning, you only need to remove the bottom of the tee.
All condensate and soot are crumbled into the tee, and not into the furnace, as in the above models. The tee is equipped with a valve that can be used to regulate traction.
A fitting is installed at the bottom of the tee to remove condensate.
The main technical characteristics are:
- power - 9 kW;
- Efficiency - 8.5;
- the maximum size of the heated room is 150 m³;
- weight - 57 kg;
- dimensions (LxWxD) - 37x54.5x65 cm;
- the volume of the furnace is 74 l;
- chimney diameter - 12 cm.
There are several modifications of Butakov’s furnaces with a water circuit:
It is worth noting that the furnaces are made both with metal doors, and with cast iron with built-in glass.
Model of the furnace "Engineer"
Of the entire model range, this model is the most popular. It is ideal for small workshops and industrial premises, as well as for private houses and summer cottages. Butakov’s furnace has an increased pipe diameter and reduced wall thickness.
The main technical characteristics of the "Engineer":
- power - 15 kW;
- Efficiency - 8.5;
- the maximum size of the heated room is up to 250 m³;
- design weight - 75 kg;
- dimensions (LxWxD) - 44x64.5x80 cm;
- the volume of the furnace is 120 l;
- chimney diameter - 12 cm.
The cheapest is a wood model with a metal door, the most expensive is with a glass door.
Furnaces "Associate Professor" and "Professor". Specifications
Butakov’s long-burning furnace “Assistant Professor” is most often used for heating various storage, production facilities, workshops, and is also ideal for large private houses.
Technical characteristics of "Associate Professor":
- power - 25 kW;
- Efficiency - 8.5;
- the maximum size of the room to be heated is up to 500 m³;
- installation weight - 143 kg;
- dimensions (LxWxD) - 57x80x100 cm;
- the volume of the furnace device is 250 l;
- chimney diameter - 15 cm.
The cost of this model is about two times higher than that of the "Student".
The Professor furnace model is the most powerful of the entire model range.
Technical characteristics of the "Professor" are as follows:
- power - 40 kW;
- Efficiency - 8.5;
- the maximum size of the room is 1000 m³;
- weight - 57 kg;
- dimensions (LxWxD) - 67x111x125 cm;
- chimney diameter - 20 cm.
This model is the most expensive.
Advantages and disadvantages of furnaces
Among the advantages distinguish:
- High enough efficiency.
- Fast and uniform heating of rooms.
- Easy to install and operate.
- A wide range of capacities allows you to choose the best option for any room (this parameter varies from 7 to 55 kW).
The main disadvantage is the very quick cooling of the furnace when it is turned off.
During the installation of any modification of the furnace, special attention should be paid to the chimney: it must meet absolutely all fire safety rules.
Before installation, the chimney should be insulated. Also, you can not create extra bends.
Important! During the operation of the installation, the external steel casing is heated to high temperatures.
How to choose the right oven
When choosing a model of a heating furnace, the following points should be taken into account:
- The area of the room. If it is small, then the "High School" (or "Student") would be an ideal option. It makes no sense to install a powerful expensive stove.
- Complete set. Each model has its own modifications, which in one way or another differ from each other (for example, the type of fuel, the presence of sensors or glass on the door).
- The diameter of the chimney.
Furnace installation
Before installation, prepare a place for the heating furnace. This does not require the installation of an additional foundation.
The stove is installed on the floor, on a flat insulated surface (metal sheets on asbestos board can serve as such a surface).
The base of the Butakov’s furnace design is equipped with fixing holes, so it can be fixed to the floor.
Adjacent walls must also be insulated to a level 25 cm above the upper edge of the furnace. As thermal insulation, plaster on a metal mesh or asbestos cardboard with a metal sheet is used.
The distance from the wall to the furnace should be at least 38 cm.
A metal sheet must be lined in front of the oven door.
The hole for the chimney should be insulated.
Butakov’s heating stove is installed in a prepared place made of non-combustible materials (for example, on a brick stand).
The last step in the installation is to connect the chimney to the tee and furnace.
Important! All pipe joints should be treated with heat-resistant sealant.
Important! The chimney should protrude 50 cm above the roof ridge. In this case, the part of the chimney located in the open space must be insulated with a material that can withstand temperatures up to +400 ° C.
Be sure to insulate the hole in the roof with a special material.
The space around the structure can be equipped with any heat-resistant and non-combustible material.
Reviews about the professor's stoves
Correctly pick up any equipment will help reviews. Butakov’s stove earned a lot of positive opinions. Celebrate:
- small sizes;
- fast and uniform heating of the entire room;
- nice view;
- the possibility of cooking and heating water;
- sufficient volume for fuel (up to 40 l);
- good warming even of insulated rooms;
Among the disadvantages of Butakov's furnaces are:
- "Return" smoke when the chimney is dirty;
- the impossibility of heating the whole house;
- frequent breakdowns in models with a glass door;
- the need to install tees for ash removal (in some models);
- difficulty in cleaning glass (use a razor or a hard brush to do this).
In new designs, a special tube is provided to solve the condensate problem. Through it, condensate is discharged directly into the furnace, where it evaporates.
Also, the problem of temperature difference due to the installation of grate grates was solved in the furnace.
If you have to buy a coal stove, there is nothing to fear. All structural elements are reliably protected by a special heat-resistant casing, which protects parts from overheating.
Important! The installation of the Butakov oven can be done independently.
