The material is relatively new, appeared on the market only in the 90s. In our country, many builders do not know about its existence to this day. In essence, it is a fiberglass, on which a substance based on bitumen is applied. Thus, the bicrost roof is completely waterproof, resistant to flames and low temperatures.

Preparation for work
Before laying bicrost, it is necessary to thoroughly clean the surface from any contaminants. It is imperative to eliminate all existing irregularities, remove all protruding nails and fittings. Large recesses and splits must either be repaired with a cement mortar, or replace damaged sections of the roof.
If the recesses are small, then the use of
bitumen mastic will be optimal for their sealing
. Laying the same material must be carried out only in such conditions when the ambient temperature will exceed 6-7 degrees Celsius.
"Improvement" of the roof
Since bikrost needs to be laid on a high-quality surface, it is more expedient to improve it, which will contribute to better deposition of the material. It is best to cover the roof along its entire length with a bitumen primer, which will tighten all the cracks and the smallest pores. We stack
If your roof has a slope of 15 degrees or more, then the bi-growth (how to lay it, you will soon learn) needs to be rolled along the direction of the rafters. If the slope is less, then you have to close the roof in all directions. Rolls need to be rolled out along the roof, and then adjusted to the size you need. After that, the rolls roll up again.
Deposition
Since it is impossible to properly stack the bi -rost without this, we will need the burner mentioned above. You need to stand so that the roll of material unfolds in your direction.
To unwind it is more convenient to use some kind of stick or poker. We set fire to the burner, after which we carefully unwrap the roll, gradually warming its lower layer. Hand movements should be as smooth as possible, since otherwise you will not achieve the desired uniformity of melting.
Rolls are stacked so that the edges go one on top of another at least 10 cm. In this case, the quality of the waterproofing will be much higher. During work, walking on the material is not recommended. At the joints, it is better to press the layers against each other.
