On the banks of the Irtysh River, at the confluence with the Om River, a fortress was founded three centuries ago, which subsequently gave rise to the construction of a city like Omsk. It is located at the intersection of large transport arteries, including the Trans-Siberian Railway, and is a large industrial center of Siberia.
