In recent years, pension reform has greatly changed the size and conditions of retirement. This affected all areas of activity, including the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Now the pension of the Ministry of Internal Affairs depends on two key parameters: salary of a post and salary of a rank. In addition, the pension of the Ministry of Internal Affairs depends on length of service, indexation and more.
Retirement of employees of the Ministry of the Interior
Usually people retire at the age of 55 (for women) and 60 years (for men). There are people who receive a pension earlier than they reach retirement age. These include military pensioners, medical workers, teachers, employees of hazardous industries, etc. Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs must have at least 20 years of pension experience. Moreover, depending on the situation, not only a pension of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for seniority, but also for disability, loss of breadwinner can be assigned.
To assign a pension, pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs must have at least 20 years of service in the police or other structure of the Ministry of the Interior and at least 45 years of age. If the seniority is not 20 years by this age, then the employee retains the right to early retirement if the following conditions are met: the total length of service of a police officer is twenty-five years, of which half the term falls on the work in the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
If this condition is not fulfilled, the experience is no more than 15-20 years, then social benefits are assigned.
Police Retirement
A policeman has the right to submit documents for the appointment of pensions three months before the expected date of dismissal. To do this, he must contact the personnel department at the place of work and confirm the length of service.
If a policeman has enough experience to apply for a pension, but is under 45 years old, he has the right to undergo a military commission to obtain an opinion on his suitability for further service. On it, an employee can be deemed unfit, confirm disability.
Documents for applying for a police pension
The following documents must be submitted to the personnel department:
- Statement from an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. Pensions are awarded based on this document.
- Money certificate.
- If necessary, an extract from ITU is provided.
- Be sure to submit data on the composition of the family of the future pensioner.
- A copy of the document confirming the right to benefits.
This is not a complete list of required papers. You can find out in more detail what kind of documents you need to provide and in what form, you can in the order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs No. 418 of May 27, 2005.
After the opening of the pension business, registration is carried out. In the book of accounting, employees of the personnel department make a record and send documents for verification. The case is certified by an authorized Ministry of Internal Affairs, then a pension appointment notice is sent to the bank.
Calculation of the pension of police officers in the Russian Federation
The pension of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is calculated depending on the length of service and the status of the recipient. When calculating the amount of allowance, awards, merit are not taken into account.
With a length of service of 20 years, employees are entitled to receive a pension in the amount of half of the amount of cash allowance. If you have been working for more than 20 years, a pension will be awarded at the rate of 3% of the amount of allowance for each year of work in the police. The maximum amount of interest upon reaching the experience of more than 20 years may be 85%, but no more.
If the experience is more than 25 years, then the calculation of the pension of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be somewhat different. The employee receives an amount equal to half the cash allowance. For each subsequent year of work in the bodies 1% of the amount of allowance is charged.
The minimum pension of the Ministry of Internal Affairs cannot be less than half the employee’s salary. In this case, indexation of the size of payments is necessarily taken into account.
For the disabled, a constant increase in the pensions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is carried out. The total amount depends on the disability group assigned to the citizen who served in the police. At the same time, the legislation takes into account military injuries, the presence of injuries received while working in the bodies.
Pensions for the disabled of the Ministry of the Interior
If during the service a police officer was injured as a result of which he was granted a disability, then the pension is calculated a little differently and depends on the assigned disability group.
Disability pension may also be granted to dismissed employees who have no more than three months after dismissal. However, in order to assign a pension to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, disability must be obtained in the following cases:
- Injured.
- Shell shock.
- Injuries while on duty.
- Diseases obtained while working in the bodies of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
With the timely submission of documents, the employee is assigned not a simple pension, but disability insurance.
Loss of a breadwinner working in the police
In the event that the breadwinner of the family died while serving in the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as well as no later than three months after dismissal, it is possible to apply for a pension related to the loss of the breadwinner.
In some cases, the appointment of payments is possible even after the employee was dismissed, but only from illness or injury, injuries that he received at the time of service.
Formula for calculating future retirement for a police officer
To find out the amount of pension, you can use the following formula:
RK x (SDD x PK), where SDD is the amount of money allowance that the employee receives in the police, PK is the decreasing coefficient to money allowance, and RK is the estimated coefficient.
Determining the RC is easy. This can be done in one of the following ways:
- if the length of service for calculating a pension is 20 years, then RK = 50%;
- with a service life of more than 20 years, then for each subsequent year 3% is charged, with the maximum PK = 85%.
Example of calculating the pension of a working policeman
A police officer retires with the rank of captain and length of service for 22 years. Calculation of his pension will consist of the following data:
SDD = 30% x (11000 + 9000) = 26000 rubles
PC = 66.78%
RK = 50% + 3% + 3% = 56%
It remains to substitute the values in the above formula:
(26000x66.78%) x56% = 9,723.17 rubles. This will be the monthly pension of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Different surcharges will be charged to it.
Future Police Retirement Benefits
Future allowances depend on the status, age, marital status and pension amount. Upon receipt of allowance for length of service, the following types of allowances are included in the pension:
- if the age of a pensioner is 80 years old, then a bonus of 100% is charged to him;
- if there are dependents in the pensioner's family who do not have employment, then the pensioner will receive 32% for each person, if there are three or more dependents, the increase in pension is 100%.
When calculating the pension provision, the possibility of receiving benefits and other allowances is taken into account.
An increase in seniority to employees of the Ministry of the Interior
Not so long ago, they began to think about increasing their seniority, because of which the pension of the employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be appointed not from 20 years of service, but from 25.
This bill will enter into force in 2019. But the government does not want to stop there. There are proposals to increase the experience of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from 25 to 30 years by 2025. The bill has already been drafted, but has not yet been adopted.
Benefits for pensioners of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
The final amount of the pension will be calculated taking into account benefits. They can be conditionally divided into the following types: basic, tax, transport, medical.
All citizens who retire receive benefits, but their size, quantity depends on the agency that will pay the pension. Priority positions are occupied by the military and the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Medicine for senior citizens of the Ministry of Internal Affairs
If a former employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation seeks medical help, then it should be provided to him free of charge, but only if the medical institution is part of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In other cases, the patient pays for all treatment costs on his own.
Once a year, a pensioner has the right to receive a free ticket to a sanatorium, which is assigned to the structure of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Travel to the place of rest and back is paid.
Some family members can also hope for benefits, namely a pensioner can buy a ticket for a family for half its cost.
Former employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs occupy a priority position in the provision of additional social services. However, benefits are not provided to everyone. You can clarify what exactly is required in a particular case by contacting specialists who assign a pension (personnel department at the place of work).
