This is a multi-valued resort where fashionable hotels coexist with exotic flora, and from the windows of countless shopping complexes you can enjoy views of the coastal zone or enjoy the contemplation of gorgeous mountain scenery.
This settlement is the most southern on the island of Hainan, as well as in the whole Celestial Empire. The clear sea, year-round solar abundance and a long beach strip make the city attractive for tourism and recreation. Here you can do snorkeling all day, bask in the sun or try to conquer the waves on a surfboard. Sanya is interesting not only for its attractions, but also for shops, shopping centers, gift shops and specialized boutiques. Not one tourist is able to refrain from visiting these institutions.
Brief historical information about the city
The settlement owes its name to the three rivers that flow through the whole city, merge and together flow into the sea, forming a symbol resembling the Chinese character Y. In the language of the country, it is pronounced “I”. Rivers divide the city into three parts. And three in Chinese is pronounced as "Sanya". So the name "Sanya" appeared. And the word itself means "the merger of three rivers." Sanya, whose sights are so beautiful, was known to mankind in the first century. Then she was even considered the end of the world.
Once upon a time, the city was a remote, remote corner of the powerful Chinese empire. It was here that villains and other convicted persons were sent into exile. For people who have lived all their lives on the mainland, the tropical local climate was unusual. But this did not subsequently prevent the city from becoming an important trading center and occupying an honorable place in the system of international relations of the Celestial Empire. Today, according to environmental criteria, Sanya (attractions are described below) ranks first in the Republic of China and second in the world. The lack of industrial enterprises provides clean air, and the location of the city in the tropic zone implies the absence of winter.
"End of the World" near Sanya
"World's End" is a park that is located near Sanya. It is the most visited attraction. This place cannot be called an ordinary park. The language does not turn: it is a magnificent seashore covered with white sand with randomly scattered smooth stones. They resemble inverted and abandoned boats, which are sometimes immersed in crystal clear water.

One of them tells that once the mythical king Sun Wukong visited the park during his next journey. Seeing an unusual congestion of smooth huge stones, the monarch was so impressed by their splendor that he called this place "Edge of the Sky."
The landmark of Sanya
Such is the Museum of Sea Shells. This object is especially popular among children. The museum was opened to the public in 2007. It gives tourists the opportunity to plunge into the depths of the ocean, get acquainted with the fantastic world of underwater inhabitants. Sanya, whose attractions abound in marine subjects, is rich in such objects. The area of the museum is three thousand square meters. Here is an exposition consisting of several hundred different mollusks and shells brought from tropical seas. The exhibitions on display at the museum include more than five thousand species of shells and about two hundred varieties of sea corals.

Its similarity is in many cities, but here it is a real sensation, a mega-popular attraction. The cable car in Sanya is a surface way. In China, it is very long. Its length is 2138 meters. The road is located above the strait in the South China Sea and connects Sanya with the island of monkeys called Monkey Island. Tourists just love the cable car. Indeed, from an enormous height, landscapes of incredible beauty open up. The facility is equipped with four-seater open cabins.
Park with a twist
Such is considered the green zone, which is located on the high mountain of Luheitou. Sanya is truly proud of this place. Sights (how to get, we will tell further) do not cease to amaze travelers. For example, this park. It is small, but its feature is a stone statue of a deer, which looks back. On both sides of the monument are a girl and a guy from the Lee tribe.
The composition reaches 12 meters. It displays the story of the park's birth. The pedestal also illustrates a beautiful legend: a young hunter chased a deer until he drove the animal onto a steep rock. The guy was ready to pierce the beast with an arrow, as he looked back and turned into a girl of unearthly beauty. The hunter fell in love with her. She reciprocated and helped save the mother of the young man from death.
We get to the places of culture
Thanks to the small size of Sanya, any tourist can independently see the sights. So, to get to the park where the deer is located with its head turned back, you need to take bus number two, which goes through Dadonghai Bay along Liling Road up to the ticket stall of the facility. A bus number 25 goes to the Museum of Sea Shells. Or you can get here by taxi. In general, you can get to any attraction of the village by public transport.
