In the Skyrim game world, Hirsin is one of the Daedric Princes. He is the patron of hunting, pursuit, sports and has various mystical abilities. During his adventures, Dovakin can not only personally see Hirsin, but also get hold of a couple of his powerful artifacts. But first things first.
History
Unfortunately, there is no mention of Hirsin related to the early history of Nirn. For this reason, some scientists consider it not a purebred daedra, but the so-called offspring. However, this opinion is often neglected, since Hirsin created lycanthropy, which, in turn, has been raging for more than a thousand years.
From time to time, this Daedric Prince appears in the mortal world. However, unlike most of his brothers, he does not try to destroy all life, but only spends the Great Hunt. It is on such a day that Hirsin releases his hounds, the purpose of which can be either one person or a whole tribe. As soon as the victim dies, the Great Hunt ends until the next cycle.
On the territory of Skyrim, Hirsin was worshiped by the witches of the Glenmore Coven. Thanks to the special favor of the daedra, they, unlike lycanthropes, could take the bestial form of their own accord. At the same time, witches were able to turn not only into werewolves, but also ordinary animals.
Like many other daedra, Hirsin left several of his artifacts in the mortal world. We will discuss them further.
Hirsin's Ring
Extremely powerful daedric artifact. First of all, it will be useful to those people who suffer from lycanthropy, since it allows you to make transformations controlled. In other words, the owner of the ring is free to choose when to become a werewolf, which automatically turns him into a dangerous opponent, even for an experienced warrior. In addition, the artifact gives its owner longevity.
In Skyrim, the Hirsin Ring can be obtained in one of the endings of the Call of the Moon mission. According to the plot, the artifact was cursed, and Dovakin, accordingly, will have to conjure it. Having done this, you can either leave the ring to yourself or earn another reward.
Hide of the Savior
And here is the second of the possible rewards for the quest "Call of the Moon." It is light armor, which gives its owner 26 units of protection against physical damage, and also increases magic resistance by 15% and poisons by 50%.
If desired, the Skin of the Savior, like any other armor, can be improved on a workbench. To do this, you will need only one skin, and the various skills of Blacksmithing and the corresponding alchemical potions will help to increase the effect of the upgrade several times. Please note that you will not be able to remove the enchantment from the artifact using the Pentagram of Souls.
Totems
These are special items that give the werewolf who owns them additional abilities. So, these artifacts allow you to:
- Summon two wolves as allies.
- Highlight all living things (ability active for one minute).
- Scare off enemies below level 25.
Of course, all these abilities can only be used in the form of a werewolf, and if you recover from lycanthropy, they will become inaccessible. In Skyrim, Hirsin's Totems can be found during the quest of the same name. True, to get it you will have to complete the full chain of assignments of Companions.
Call of the Moon
Now is the time to move on to the so-called Hirsin quests in Skyrim. Rather, to those tasks that are somehow connected with this Daedric Prince. The first is called "Call of the Moon" and it is as follows:
- Dovakin needs to go to Falkreat and talk there with Mathies, who will talk about the murderer of his daughter.
- The criminal will be Sinding. He, in turn, will tell the hero about the cursed Ring of Hirsin, who turned him into a werewolf.
- Next, Dovkin needs to track down a white deer in the vicinity of the city and then kill him. In place of the fallen animal, Hirsin himself appears and orders the hero to punish Sinding. That is to kill the last.
Now you will have a choice: to kill Sinding or feel sorry for the poor fellow. In the first case, you will receive the Skin of the Savior, and in the second you will be able to keep the Hirsin Ring (with the curse removed). Whatever your preference, the task will be completed.
Hirsin's Totems
The second quest related to the Daedric Prince. “Hirsin's Totems” in “Skyrim” is the final task of the Companions, the essence of which is reduced to the search for artifacts of the same name. It is performed as follows:
- Chat with Aila.
- Go to a random dungeon that will be marked on your map. Strip it and take the Totem.
- Take the artifact to the Lower Forge (you need to install it on a pedestal).
There are three such Totems, which means you need to complete the task three times to unlock all the additional abilities for the werewolf form.
Notes
Of course, Daedric Princes and related artifacts are not only found in Skyrim. Hirsin, for example, managed to “light up” in such parts of the “Ancient Scrolls” as “Moroindind” and “Oblivion”. There you can get two of his spears, as well as the previously mentioned ring and the Skin of the Savior.
In addition, there are several artifacts that can not be obtained in any of the games in the series, but you can read about them in books or descriptions of other items.
