The coat of arms of the Rostov Region was created on the model of the symbols of the Don Don Region, which was approved by Alexander on June 25, 1878. The symbol is made in the shape of a shield, which was cut twice and had a chapter. In the middle, on a silver field, a wall with 3 towers was depicted. On the right field there is a golden flag, on the left is a silver mace. At the head of the shield is depicted an eagle with three crowns on its head. The upper part of the shield is decorated with the crown of kings, and behind it is the imperial banner connected by the Alexander ribbon.
The latest version of the image was approved on December 5, 1997, and these changes entered into force on February 2, 1998. They made the coat of arms of the Rostov Region, the description of which is below, in the register number 214.

In the regional law on the coat of arms, its description is given: it is depicted in the form of a shield, on a silver field of which there is a pillar with a fortress wall and three towers located on it. On this pillar are Don regalia. Above the shield is a black eagle with two heads and a golden beak; on each of the bird's heads is the emperor’s crown. Flag of the Rostov region
The flag of this region appeared in 1918 as a result of the enormous efforts of the government. However, even with the fact that his birth falls on such a distant date, the official consolidation of the Rostov region took place at the same time that the coat of arms was adopted.
