Tummy leather. Planting and care, plant features

This deciduous shrub sometimes reaches five meters in height. Branching trunks with brownish-gray bark are crowned with reddish shoots. The most interesting and attractive of what scoopia has (planting and caring for it will be described below) are the leaves. In the spring they are greenish, during the summer they gradually change color to yellow (without losing the elasticity and contrast of the veins), and closer to the colds they acquire an intense orange or crimson hue, becoming a true decoration of the garden. The flowers of this plant are collected in panicles, surrounded by hairs, which makes them look like fluffy balls. The color of these hair panicles is different even for one type of scoopia - from white to reddish.

Sometimes they are even colorful. Flowering, beginning in late spring, continues until July. After it, small dark fruits ripen. In nature, scoopia (planting and caring for cultivated species allows you to preserve and increase their decorativeness) lives for a very long time, up to hundreds of years. It is found in the Caucasus, in the Crimea, in the southern regions of Russia.

The cultivation of scoopia in your garden should begin with the choice of its location. It must certainly be sunny. Regarding the fertility of the soil, you can not worry, it is undemanding scumpia. However, stagnation of moisture near the plant should be prevented - this can provoke a halt in development.

If you already have one such plant growing on the site, you will certainly want to have two. Without problems, you can propagate skumpia by layering, cuttings and seeds. Layers are formed after the shoot is separated from the plant and pressed to the ground with a staple or a small amount of soil.

After some time, the roots begin to form on the branch. Then it can be separated from the main plant - now it is a new skumpiya. Planting and care for it begins with watering. If you are a proponent of propagation by green cuttings, then know that it is better to harvest them in the summer, soak in heteroauxin for half a day, and then plant them in a greenhouse. Rooting will be long. Green cuttings need frequent watering with a small amount of water. Seeds of scoopia can be harvested in autumn and spring, after being subjected to stratification, planted. Both adults and young plants need mulching. Regularly dried shoots should be removed from skumpiya regularly - this only stimulates branching.

Benefit for health

Leaves of skumpiya are a storehouse of useful essential oils, ascorbic acid, tannins and choleretic substances. The flavonoids and tannins contained in them determined the use of this plant in folk medicine. For example, to disinfect purulent wounds. For this purpose, the gruel from the leaves of scumpia is mixed with oil (cream) or glycerin in a ratio of one to two. The resulting ointment treats wounds twice a day.
