The gluing of polyethylene has long gone beyond the boundaries of large enterprises, many compact modern models make it possible to pack products easily and quickly directly at the manufacturing site in a small business, in the service sector, in the store, and in everyday life.
Classification
Different types of products, depending on storage or transportation conditions, require packaging. To date, three main types of sealing machines are on sale:

Pulse packet sealer: purpose and principle of operation
It is used for sealing individual bags or from rolls of tubular film. It is found in stores for packaging products and luggage; things in dry cleaners and other services.
Operating principle:
- The material is laid on a work surface.
- The upper locking lever is lowered.
- Electricity is supplied according to the operator’s signal, the indicator lights up, and the process of heating the working surface of the bar begins, the polyethylene is soldered together. The procedure usually takes no more than 5 seconds.
- After completion, the electricity supply stops, the indicator goes out, and the upper bar rises.
The width of the seam depends on the type of device: usually from 2 to 10 mm.
Types and main characteristics of pulse sealers
The main types:
- Portable bag sealing machine: the manual control method limits the production speed, but adds mobility to the device.
- Floor sealing machine. It is mounted on support racks. Operation with the pedal located at the bottom of the device. Only the operator’s foot is involved in the work. The machine has larger dimensions than manual, but at the same time it allows, at the expense of free hands, to speed up the soldering process and increase the number of manufactured products.
- The desktop packet sealer can have two control methods: manual or using the foot pedal. A hard surface is required for installation. The size of the soldered film depends on the length of the working plane of the lever. The welding mode (soldering time) is set according to the type of film and its thickness, which allows you to get the most even and well-cooked seam.

- Compressors of packages: floor manual and floor industrial have the largest sizes in comparison with other types of machines and are intended for packaging large items. The speed of rations up to an average of 30 per minute. A feature of the model is the ability to wrap, seal several previously packaged goods in one large package.
- Sealer bags with a knife - is desktop and floor type. The upper lever along the axis has an installed knife with a handle, the movement of which carries out a segment of an unnecessary part of polyethylene beyond the weld.
Vacuum sealer: types and purpose
Evacuation allows you to protect the contents of the bag from evaporation of moisture and bacteria, as well as from other types of contaminants, prolonging the life of products and protecting household items from damage.
Types of Vacuum Sealers:
- Table sealing machine, with suction of air from the package, or from the container using a special tube.
- Desktop packer for disposable trays.
- Package Sealers (floor type): with automatic trimming, with manual trimming. Provide simultaneous sealing of large volumes of products. Depending on the type of work surface, it can carry out packaging of bags and containers.

Principle of operation of vacuum bag sealers
The desktop manual splicer has small dimensions, making it convenient and relatively inexpensive, cheap models are made with a plastic case.
Vacuum sealing machine works on the principle of:
- First, the sleeve film of the required length is manually cut, one end is placed on the teflon strip of the device and covered with a lid. After pressing the "solder" button, the end of the packet is glued together.
- The lid of the machine rises and the necessary object is laid in cellophane.
- The second edge of the bag is placed on the teflon strip and the lid is closed.
- After pressing the "evacuation" button, the air is sucked off and the product is finally packed.
When working with special plastic containers that come with the machine, a tube is connected to a special hole in the lid through which air is pumped out.
The floor packer has a special table along which a teflon strip is located on one side or two, on which the sealing bags are laid out. After pressing the button, the lid is lowered, air is evacuated and glued together.
Vacuum Sealer
For packaging products in disposable trays, bag sealers can be used: floor or table. In the first case - for simultaneous processing of a large number of trays, in the second - with only two small niches. Work with rolled cling film.
The principle of operation is to install containers in special compartments, after closing the lid, air will be pumped out and sealed with a film.
If there is a bag sealing machine with a knife, then the film will be cut automatically according to the shape of the cell; in a conventional packer, the operator cuts the film manually with a special device.
Tray packers can be found everywhere: from an ordinary dining room or cafe to a large grocery department of a company or a store.
Roller bag sealer: design feature, principle of operation
Roller sealing machine is designed to form a seam of unlimited length and refers to devices with constant heating. It is used for welding bags made of multilayer thick, laminated, paper and aluminum films, as well as standard polyethylene.
Has a conveyor type design:
- Moving belt
- Regulator of height, speed and heating.
- Teflon sealing surface
- Guide with rollers.
- Date printing device, depending on the model.
Depending on the installation method of the roller mechanism, there are horizontal and vertical bag sealers. The floor type is used for vertical packaging with adjustment of the height of the working surface to the level of production. The tabletop model is used for horizontal gluing of bags.
Maintenance
To maintain the mechanism in working condition, it is necessary to carry out high-quality maintenance:
- Regularly clean the Teflon heating strip from film debris or dirt.
- Inspect or replace the heating element every two years.
