The decision to connect gas to a private house is justified, since this type of fuel is the cheapest and therefore in demand among consumers. If you also decided to implement a gasification project, you should be aware that a mandatory stage is the design of gas supply, which is required to ensure the safe operation and connection of the residential facility to centralized networks.

But the pipes in this case will be reliably protected from mechanical and atmospheric influences. Underground systems are safe and reliable, but if damaged, it is more difficult to find and eliminate the cause.
When the design of gas supply is carried out, it is already possible at this stage to decide whether the pipes will be above the ground. Despite the fact that such work is cheaper, some sections of the pipeline will be at risk of corrosion, they can connect spontaneously, which is dangerous for the environment. The price factor does not always influence the choice of the method of laying the gas pipeline. The gas supply of a private house can be equipped using pipe laying technology underground, when the atmospheric temperature in the region drops below 45 degrees. Sometimes a gas pipeline project to a residential building is a combined option that combines both ways of laying.
Features of designing internal networks
Gas supply of a private house can be equipped only after the calculation and design of the system. These works are based on individual factors, on the basis of which the customer will select equipment according to capacity and type. There are general requirements for creating projects, compliance with which is mandatory. For example, to install the unit, it is necessary to allocate a boiler room, which should not be located in residential premises. 4 square meters should be allocated per device, and the ceiling height should not be less than 2.2 meters. The doorway should have a width of 0.8 meters, and the size of the windows is calculated taking into account 0.3 meters that rely on 10 cubic meters of space.
The furnace should be finished with non-combustible materials. Installation of gas equipment should be carried out in a room where electrical networks, gas and water supply, as well as sewerage should be carried out. To ensure the safety of electrical communications, grounding must be provided. Sewerage is required for emergency runoff. The boiler room is designed taking into account the presence of a ventilation system and two channels for the chimney. An additional first channel is needed for installing the chimney, while the second for cleaning.
If you decide to purchase equipment with a natural outlet, you will need a ventilation grille through which fresh air will penetrate. If you will use gas in a country house as a heating source, then the chimney should be made of gas-tight materials. The top of the chimney must be above the roof. The boiler should be located away from sources of open fire; a free approach should be provided to it from all sides.

It is important to take into account some exceptions, among them it should be noted that there is no need to standardize the volume of the boiler room if the equipment has a closed combustion chamber. In this case, a window with an exit to the outside is not required. If you purchased a boiler with a capacity of 23.3 kilowatts, then 2.5 cubic meters of gas will burn in an hour. To ensure complete combustion of this volume, 30 cubic meters of air per hour will be required. If there is not enough air during the operation of the equipment, the gas will not completely burn out, which will cause the formation and accumulation of a substance harmful to human health.
Features of installation work
If you decide to carry out work on connecting gas to a private house, then the equipment should be installed in the boiler room so that it is lit through a window opening. The gas pipes should be made only of metal, you should abandon the use of flexible hoses, which are applicable only for connecting individual consumers. It is important to correctly calculate the cross section of the chimney, which according to the rules corresponds to the power of the device. If the last of the mentioned parameters is equivalent to 30 kilowatts, then the diameter of the chimney is 130 millimeters. The diameter of the chimney increases to 170 millimeters if the boiler power is equal to 40 kilowatts.
The gas connection scheme should be considered by you before starting work, but the launch of the system should be entrusted to professionals. The cross-sectional area of ββthe chimney should not be less than the cross-sectional area of ββthe hole for its connection. The power supply system of the equipment should be supplemented with an automatic thermal and current protection. To prevent gas leaks in the room, it is necessary to install a gas analyzer, but the electric valve will automatically shut off the fuel supply.
Additional requirements
Work on connecting gas to a private house should only be carried out after the heating equipment has been installed. It can be located in the basement, but the private house should be single-family. If we are talking about an apartment building, it is forbidden to install a gas boiler in the basement. The device must be equipped with a gas meter by installing a ventilation system in the upper part of the boiler room.
