What should you remember first? The first is the disappointing fact that only a healthy rose can produce offspring (meaning rooted cuttings). You need to choose strong shoots, uniformly green in color, strong, without spots. The buds of such roses bloom for a long time, sometimes more than a week. A sick and stunted flower will not be able to take root properly. Second: roses must be from your climate zone. After all, if you live in Russia, and the flower flew from Holland, then the chances of rooting at such an escape are slim. The best time for this is the end of spring or the beginning of summer. It is during this period that the shoots of roses grow actively. But in July and August, the plant also has some chances of rooting. In the cold season they are minimal.
How to plant a rose from a cuttings: preparing shoots
Soak the stems of fresh and blooming roses in clean cool water for about a day. This is important - in no case cut cuttings from freshly cut plants. They spent a long time without moisture and are not in the best condition. Before planting a rose from a shank, it needs to be well saturated with moisture, and it should also ripen a little. It is better to lower the shoots in a bucket of water - but the buds should not be immersed in it. During the time that they are there, you need to cut the ends a couple of times (with a sharp knife, without removing it from the water). Change the water until the flower begins to drop its petals - it can take more than one day to wait. This process means the maturation of the shoot and the fact that you can begin to cuttings. Use only the sharpest knife for any manipulations with roses - this will prevent the stem tissue from wrinkling. On each handle, leave no more than two buds. The first should be located at a distance of about seven millimeters above the bottom cut. Before planting a rose from a stalk, on the shoot you need to remove most of the leaves, leaving no more than two. Moreover, the top sheet is better to cut off half. This prevents the loss of moisture evaporating from the surface of the leaves. If there are few roses, and the value of the variety is high, then single-bud cuttings (six to eight centimeters long) can be cut - this will increase the amount of planting material. Some roses, moreover, small cuttings root better.

How to plant a rose from a stalk? Rooting stage
For everything to succeed, you need either a shaded bed in the garden, or a mini-greenhouse in the house. Compose the substrate from large river water washed with large amounts of water and garden soil. One-kidney cuttings should be located vertically in the ground, and two-kidney cuttings with a deepening of the lower kidney under a slight slope. After watering the seedling, it needs to be covered with a jar. With further introduction of moisture into the soil, water must be poured along the edges of the pot or under a jar.
