The choice of finishing materials for internal and external works always depends on the individual taste of the homeowner or a design decision. However, over the years, the fashion for natural eco-friendly finishing materials does not pass. One of them is a wooden lining. It has a number of exclusive qualities, such as beauty, durability, integrity of the coating, ease of installation.
Lining and euro lining
The material has its own story. Initially, boards with specially processed edges were used for cladding cars. Thanks to the groove on one side and the protrusion (spike) on the other, the boards are very tightly interconnected, and such a covering for a long time guaranteed the absence of cracks.
The name βliningβ began to be used not so long ago, in principle, this is the same lining, but made in accordance with the international standard DIN 68126, adopted in Europe. The standard fixes grading (depending on the quality of the wood), profile, humidity, quality of processing and strictly regulated sizes of eurolining.
Dimensions
A simple lining has a fairly wide range of parameters, its thickness can vary from 1.2 to 2.5 cm, width - from 8 to 15 cm, length - from 60 cm to 6 m. The dimensions of euro lining, adopted according to the German standard, are 12, 5x96 mm. Four lengths are used - 2.1, 2.4, 2.7 and 3 meters. However, domestic manufacturers declare several more options: thickness - 1.3, 1.6 and 1.9 cm with a width of 8, 10, 11 and 12 cm, but the length is limited to 6 m.
Since drying in chambers is used for euro-lining, its standard humidity should not exceed 10-15%, while the usual one has a humidity twice as high.
The main parameter that distinguishes the euroboard and the ordinary paneling is the size of the spike. In eurolining, it occupies 9% of the width of the board, or 8 mm, while the protrusion in the usual one is from 4 to 6 mm.
Each euro-lining board, unlike a simple one, necessarily has grooves on the back side that serve as air ducts and prevent the formation of condensate, and also reduce the internal stress of the wood associated with temperature differences.
The dimensions of the euro lining significantly affect its price, however, like the grade. The most expensive is the lining βExtraβ, followed by grades A and B, and the least quality (respectively, the cheapest) refers to grade C.
Lining can be used both for facing of internal rooms, and external (balconies, facades). At the same time, thinner material is used for internal cladding - up to 16 mm, and for the cladding of facades - the so-called wooden siding (euro lining sizes - from 18 to 25 mm).
Material price
The right amount of lining is determined by the net size (without spike). The shorter the board, the cheaper it is. For example, the price of a cubic meter of boards up to 1.7 m long is one and a half times lower than the price of a board of standard length - from 2.1 to 3 meters.
So, the parameters by which the euro lining should be selected are the sizes, the price. The total amount spent will depend on the surface area to be sheathed. So, the cost of a standard package (10 boards) is about the same, but the length of the boards can vary. Therefore, the number of square meters that can be sheathed by buying one package is different. The total purchase amount depends on how long the board is selected. By correctly calculating the required number of boards of the required length, you can significantly save.
