ESports - what is it?
Computer games have become not just a hobby, but a profession. Everyone knows about a sport like eSports. That this is not just entertainment, many also understand. E-sports is very similar to the usual for every person, only the competitions themselves take place on the playing field with the participation of computer technologies: all kinds of consoles and personal computers. Each competition is related to a game (for example, World of Tanks competitions). According to numerous sources, half a percent of the country's population constantly plays games.
How it all started
Today, e-sports has rapidly developed. That this is no longer just a toy, you can understand by evaluating the level of its relevance and popularity. What was he supposed to start with? The “mom” of E-sports is the famous Doom 2, released in 1994. It was this shooter for the first time in history that had multiplayer (network game mode). A game like Quake only aroused the passion for a new sport in millions of people. Immediate was the formation of the very first league of E-athletes. It happened in the USA in 1997.
Competitions
World program competitions are gaining momentum. Every day the winning jackpot is growing, and there are more and more people wishing to get it. World competitions such as the ECG (ECG), World Cyber Games (World Cyber Games), CODE 5 (KODE 5), KPL (The CPL), ESCC (ESWC) attract considerable attention of the press .

ESports - what does it mean in Russia
Although this sport is not so developed in Russia as, for example, in America or Europe, it also has its own teams and its own tournaments. It all started with the opening in Moscow of the computer club "Orcs" - a favorite place of the future elite. It was here that the first Russian E-athletes were born. They gained experience and fought among themselves. As a result, new eSports teams and clans of players began to form. All this, of course, was only at a primitive level. Winning in the first competitions of pro-gamers was scanty and served only as a symbolic prize.
ESports in the CIS countries
Esports in Russia has its own organization, which is called the National Professional Esports League (NPCL). This organization organizes championships in 4 game centers - the national gaming center.
To get to the tournament, you need to go a long and difficult road qualifying rounds. Only 12 teams take part in the competition. The format of the tournament determines 66 matches for the entire season (each team must play 11 matches). Only the 4 strongest teams of pro-gamers reach the final, where the fate of the winners is decided in the playoffs. The effort is worth getting a jackpot of 100 thousand US dollars. But such competitions are held not only in Russia, but also in Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
