Yuri Kazakov noted in an autobiography from 1965 that in his family, as far as he knew, not a single truly educated person was, however, many were distinguished by their talent. The adolescence of our hero coincided with the period of the Great Patriotic War. These are very personal manuscripts saturated with heavy thoughts.
Notes
Yuri Kazakov at the age of 15 began to study music. First he played the cello, later - the double bass. In 1946 he entered
the Gnesins Music
College. He graduated from this institution in 1951. Finding a stable place in the orchestra was difficult. The professional musical work of our hero was episodic.
Yuri Kazakov played in various symphony and jazz orchestras, and also worked as a musician on dance floors. Complicated family relations between parents and difficult financial situation did not contribute to the active creative growth of our hero.
Creation
Yuri Kazakov in 1940 began to create poetry, then plays appeared. Later, he published essays in the newspaper Sovetsky Sport. The diary entries made by our hero at that time indicate an incredible craving for writing. Soon Kazakov fell into the walls of the A. M. Gorky Literary Institute . Our hero recalls that while studying at this university, the head of the seminar discouraged writing about something little-known.
Now let's talk about what the prose writer Yuri Kazakov remembered. He began to publish stories while still a student. The first works of this genre should include "Blue and Green", "Ugly." Soon, the first book of Yuri Pavlovich was published under the title "Arcturus - the hound dog." The story has become a favorite genre of the writer. His prose skill was expressed in full force. Among the early creations of our hero, a special place is given to the works “Arcturus - the Hound Dog” and “Teddy”. The main characters here are animals. For example, Teddy is a bear who escaped from the circus, and Arcturus is a hunting dog that lost his sight.
Rating
Yuri Kazakov, according to literary critics, is one of the successors of the Russian classics. Our hero wanted to write a separate work about the latter and discussed it with G. Adamovich and
B. Zaitsev during a trip to Paris, which took place in 1967. The writer noted that he wants to revive the genre of the story, along with all the consequences that he can heal for himself.
The prose of our hero is characterized by a musical rhythm and subtle lyricism. In 1964, in his autobiographical sketches, Kazakov noted that during his studies he continuously memorized, listened and looked, spent the night where he needed to, walked, fished, hunted, and climbed. After graduation, as the author of prose collections, the writer did not lose interest in travel. Impressions from various trips were later reflected in special travel essays, as well as works of art. Among them are the stories “On the Road”, “Crying and Crying”, “Cursed North”.
A special place is given in the work of the writer to the Russian North. Our hero noted that he always wanted to live in villages - in true Russian villages, because life in these places flows more slowly. She is a century old, constant. Here people are tied to the house by the household, children, family, inheritance work, crosses on the tombstones of grandfathers and fathers.
