Architecture

Galski Manor (Cherepovets), the photo of which you see below, is a complex that has developed in the forms of provincial classicism. We are faced with the traditional "trapezoid", where the zones are clearly divided: the economic part is located in the south, and the manor house is in the north. Of particular architectural value belongs to the manor house, built of wood (larch), it is a monument of federal significance, is distinguished by the harmonious proportions.

In the center of the raised high base, equal to the first floor, there is a six-columned portico of the Roman Doric order. The rear facade of the middle part has three-part risalit windows and large windows in the center of the facades, they are separated by two vertical jumpers. The southern facade, complicated by risalits, looks more chamber. Galleries with a balcony-terrace are located above, they are made by a rare reception of the colonnade.

Galski Manor (Cherepovets): history

The first owner of the estate was a participant in the Patriotic War of 1812, Andrei Ivanovich Kudryavy. But for almost a century, the Galsky ruled the estate, since he passed off his daughter for Lev Nikolayevich Galsky. The last owner, Nikolai Lvovich Galsky, gained fame as a zemstvo leader and advanced business executive, was twice elected leader of the county nobility.

At the beginning of the 20th century, when the Bolsheviks came to power, the estate was nationalized. In 1918, the Galsky estate (Cherepovets) was recognized as a unique cultural monument, but still this did not save her from destruction. In its walls at different times housed an agricultural college, a dormitory, a board of a state farm.

Kinship

An interesting fact is that Galsky were relatives of the famous Vereshchagins brothers, even their house was not far from the estate. Nikolai Vereshchagin came up with a recipe for the production of Vologda oil, and his brother Vasily was a famous battle painter.

In different ways, the fate of the Gali was formed; for many, life ended tragically. Nowadays, their descendants live in St. Petersburg, France and the United States. Unfortunately, relatives were lost contact with the French, but the rest are paying attention to the legacy of their family, are interested in the development of the estate and provide assistance and support.
