The tourism business of the Balkan Peninsula is developing rapidly, so a tour in this direction is a good option for a vacation. As in many Western European countries, the conditions for entering Macedonia depend on the citizenship of the individual. A citizen's affiliation with a particular state affects these conditions. For example, for a Russian tourist trip, registration is not required, but the grace period is limited to a certain period.
Visa-free entry
According to the decree of the Government of the Republic, preferential rules apply until 03.15.2016 entry into Macedonia for the Russians. To cross the border, you will only need a valid passport and medical insurance with a validity period for the entire trip. Such conditions make it possible to transit through the country, visit relatives, take part in tourist trips.
The period when Russians are allowed to be within the Republic is strictly indicated: no more than 90 days in the last 6 months. After six months, you can again use this benefit (provided that it is extended for a longer period than planned). Moreover, only a single entry into Macedonia is allowed for the Russians. Secondary is possible after the end of the 6 month period or when applying for a visa.
A longer visit will require a visa.
Schengen
The republic is a member of the Schengen countries , which means that the rules of entry into Macedonia are consistent with European agreements. Thus, with a valid double-entry or multiple-entry Category C visa on hand, repeated entry into the territory of the Republic is allowed. For an unhindered crossing of a customs point, it must meet the following requirements:
- validity should not expire within five days after leaving the country;
- it must operate throughout the Schengen area;
- the category must be double or multiple (the presence of a single visa does not allow entry into the country).
Pre-entry
The Embassy of the Republic of Macedonia is located in Moscow on Dmitry Ulyanov Street , Building 16, Building 2, Cabinet No. 510. Contact phone: +7 (499) 124 33 57.
Allowing documents for entry into a foreign country are issued at the embassy of the country or the visa center. Long-term entry conditions for Macedonia (for training, immigration, doing business, etc.) require a long-term visa. The process of registration may take 10 business days, but in some cases a 30-day registration period is also possible.
This will require the submission of an electronic application, which indicates the following data:
- Name, date of birth, citizenship and permanent registration address with postal code (registration) of the applicant;
- information on labor activity (type of activity, name of organization, actual address and contact numbers);
- terms and objectives of the visit to the country.
In addition, you must provide information about the inviting party: a citizen of the Republic of Macedonia or a legal entity:
- Name, date of birth, permanent address with postal code of the individual;
- name, actual address, contact numbers of the organization and full details of the responsible contact person.
The application is assigned a number, the date and time of reception at the embassy are assigned.
Documents and cost
Arriving at the appointed time, you will need to fill out another form and provide the following documents:
- international passport;
- 2 photographs that comply with ICAO international requirements;
- confirmation of payment of the visa fee;
- a medical insurance policy valid in the Schengen area and having a minimum insurance amount of 30,000 euros;
- a copy of the Russian passport.
In case of refusal to apply for a visa, the amount of the fee paid to the applicant shall not be returned.
Long-term entry conditions for Macedonia for Russians require a visa, which can be paid directly at the embassy or at the visa center. The cost depends on the term of the decision. For the standard period of consideration of documents, the amount of the visa fee will be 35 euros or the equivalent amount in Russian rubles. For an expedited process, you will have to pay 70 euros for three days.
Payment for services of the visa center is not specifically specified, the only clarification: it should not exceed the amount of 30 euros.
Registration through the visa center
The advantage of the appeal is that the center managers will independently prepare and submit documents for consideration. You will only need to sign in the questionnaire and provide them with the necessary information. But the embassy will still have to visit for the "surrender" of biometrics.
Biometrics
The fact is that a new Visa Information System (VIS) has recently been introduced, in which fingerprint information about people traveling outside their countries is processed and stored. According to its charter, biometric data is submitted every 59 months. Thus, the conditions of entry into Macedonia require mandatory fingerprints.
There are two options when a citizen is exempted from fingerprints:
- 59 months have not passed since the last delivery;
- a citizen has not yet reached the age of 12.
The conditions for entering Macedonia, as in most countries of the Balkan Peninsula, are relatively loyal for our compatriots. That is why wonderful mountain landscapes, historical sights and interesting cultural heritage of the country so attract Russian tourists.
