Despite the fact that many people take e-sports seriously, this does not stop the organizers from organizing all kinds of tournaments and championships, which collect not only a huge number of spectators, but also huge prize pools. One of the disciplines that attracts the most attention from the audience is Dota 2.
Currently, there are a lot of teams that are able to compete for the title of the best team, taking the cup from the next The International. One of these can rightfully be considered the Team Liquid Dota 2 team, the composition of which has repeatedly undergone changes.
How it all began?
To date, the composition of the Liquid team in Dota 2 is international. However, at the very beginning, which occurred in 2012, only the Americans were in the team.
The first to be honored to start the team's star trek were the players under the nicknames:
- Ixmike88.
- Korok.
- FluffnStuff.
- Bulba.
- TS.
These guys managed the almost impossible: in just a year of joint training, they pumped their skill so much that they were able to challenge the most serious rivals that no one wanted to deal with.
First Successes, The International 2013
The initial composition of Liquid in Dota 2 began to demonstrate an incredible level for beginners in domestic tournaments that took place in the United States of America. They easily beat the most difficult opponents and were able to take first places in several competitions at once. A year later, they manage to win the prestigious tournament, which is held outside their native continent, - RaidCall Dota 2 League Season II. It was at this championship that they were able to fully reveal their potential and beat the best European teams.
Having fallen in love with a huge number of fans of the game Dota 2, Liquid squad goes to the most significant tournament - The International. However, the guys, who became very self-confident, had an unpleasant surprise. The skills and experience that Liquid had in Dota 2 at that time turned out to be insufficient to qualify for prizes.
In this tournament, the guys took only 7-8 lines of the rating, but were able to get what most teams dream of - the love of millions of fans of the popular online game. The guys were remembered for the fact that they were not afraid to improvise in the “toughest skating rinks”, gave original interviews and did not hide their own emotions. Despite the fact that it was not possible to take the prize place and take the majority of the prize money, the organizers involved in the promotion of the team were absolutely pleased with the results. However, their joys quickly came to an end.
After IT13, the team split. The composition of Liquid in Dota 2 left Korok and Ixmike88. Having lost the main players, the team began to go through difficult times and dramatic changes in the composition.
The international 2014
Faced with staffing problems, the team managers began to work to the limit of their own capabilities and after a couple of months they found quite good players. The composition of Liquid in Dota 2 Qojqva and WayToSexy were included. But the team still could not reach the previous level and continued to remain in the role of an outsider. And after the unexpected departure of FluffnStuff, many thought that they would no longer see the team in the professional arena.
However, a player under the nickname DeMoN, who joined the team and was able to stir him up, did not agree. After a successful transfer, the long-awaited victories began, and the team even got the right to speak at IT14.
The guys did not manage to perform adequately in the tournament of the highest level. After an insulting defeat, it was decided to completely dissolve the entire Liquid composition in Dota 2, and freeze the unit.
Return
Nothing was heard about the team for a year and a half. After a long pause, they returned. The debut was unsuccessful. The Frankfurt Major 2015 ended in an unfortunate defeat for them. The vast majority of analysts were sure that the lineup needed a complete upgrade. However, hard training and working on mistakes - that is what the team really needed. The very next year, at the “Majors” held in Shanghai and Manila, the guys took the silver. Then they took gold in the capital of Russia, where EPICENTER: Moscow was held.
After all kinds of permutations, transfer deals and choosing the most suitable strategy, KuroKy and the organizers hope that it will turn out to raise the team to a higher level. Perhaps the guys will soon win their first The International, because today there are very strong players in their team:
