Vadim Yuryevich Stepantsov - Russian poet and musician. It is he who is the creator of the famous Bravo song “The King of Orange Summer”. He also wrote texts for such groups as Na-Na and Tatu.
Biography
Vadim Stepantsov was born on September 9, 1960 in Russia, Tula region. However, data on a more accurate birthplace are contradictory. Some sources, including the poet’s official website, report that Tula is the hometown of Stepantsov. Others (for example, in some interviews) mention the small town of Uzlovaya, about 50 km from Tula. There is also a third version that Vadim Stepantsov was born in Donetsk, but almost immediately after his birth the family moved to Tula.
It is known that Vadim has a brother, Peter, who works as a translator.
He received secondary education at Uzlovskaya school No. 22. After graduating from school, Stepantsov planned to enter the Moscow State University at the Faculty of Geography, but later changed his mind and submitted documents to Moscow State University of Food Production, where he studied only 3 courses.
After Vadim Stepantsov left MGUPP, he was called up for military service. However, soon the circumstances developed so that Stepantsov was in a psychiatric clinic with a diagnosis of "psychopathy." The treatment lasted about 4 months.
In 1983 he entered the first year of the Gorky Moscow Literary Institute. A couple of years later there was an acquaintance with the leader of the Bravo group, for which Stepantsov wrote several songs.
In the late 80s and early 90s, several works were published. In 1991, Vadim Stepantsov joined the Union of Russian Writers.
“Bakhyt-compote”
The poet not only creates lyrics for other people's groups, but is also a leader of his own, despite the fact that he does not have the ability to play any musical instruments. Stepantsov and another Russian poet Konstantin Grigoryev formed the Bakhyt-Kompot in 1989. The first album was released in 1990.
The musical collective exists today. Its composition has repeatedly changed, and at different times the members of the group were Robert Lenz, Konstantin Meladze, Kim Breitburg and other famous Russian musicians.

In addition to poetry, Stepantsov also created one prosaic work - in 1990, the adventurous novel "The Sump of Eternity" was written.
