What is extravaganza? This is real magic!

"Enchanting!" - a noble word from the movie β€œIt can't be!” immediately comes to mind when the question arises: "What is extravaganza?" The heroine of the film expressed in one word her feelings for a large bright scarf with a fringe, in which the bride wrapped herself. The scarf is ridiculous, but the heroine's eyes and physiognomy expressed complete enthusiasm. It is clear that the word quickly stuck and was then used to express vivid emotions, and not always positive ones.

Juicy holiday

What is extravaganza? This is a great celebration!

what is extravaganza
Bright holiday, so fire is a must. Blazing torches are lit on both sides of a long path sprinkled with gravel. This path leads directly to the pond. The black surface of the pond glistens, reflecting the trembling torch lights in its waters. Slightly cool, or is it a chill because the darkness is thickening around? But out of the darkness a boat decorated with ribbons and balls appears, then another, third ... On each of them there is a footman with a torch in his hand. A motley-dressed crowd of guests takes their places, and the procession glides along the mirror surface of the pond. From somewhere comes the beautiful music of stringed instruments. Boats stop in the middle of the lake and freeze for a moment. A flash of light, and from the darkness a brightly lit fairytale castle appears, from which a light path stretches to the boats. The music plays louder, fireworks flare up, and the guests freeze with delight, and the boats silently keep their way to the castle of Prince Sheremetyev.

Such enchanting performances met amazed guests at the Sheremetev estate in Kuskovo near Moscow. The prince had a theater, and when guests stepped on the path leading to the castle, serf actors and actresses began to play skits, although the grandiose performance was ahead on the main stage in the garden. That's what an extravaganza is!

A slightly different riot of emotions is the largest and most grandiose carnival in the world, which is traditionally held in Brazilian Rio de Janeiro. The event is attended by more than 6 million people, and for several nights in a row the unbridled fun does not subside.

Breathtaking sight

What is extravaganza? This is a catchy sight. For example, the extravaganza of fountains in Gorky Park in Moscow, starting at exactly 6 o’clock in the evening.

For a moment, the central fountain stops working, a melody sounds, low jets of water slowly return to their places. But they dance, waltz to the music of Strauss, Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, scattering light and joy around. On a sunny day, a rainbow connects individual fountain compositions. Music sounds stronger and brighter, fountain jets soar above, as if interwoven into a single thread with music, final chords sound and, having soared above the trees for the last time, pillars of water are scattered into many droplets of pearls, each of which has a festive mood.

Wedding extravaganza

A wedding is a wonderful holiday, based on love and happiness. It is customary to celebrate such a holiday in Russia with a large number of guests and gifts, and maybe not always gifts, but a fight is necessary.

However, the preparations for a significant event are remembered better for the heroes of the occasion than the ceremony itself, and more and more young people tend to avoid mass drinking bouts along with huge financial sacrifices just to let everyone know that they have concluded an agreement with the state. But parents sacredly honor traditions and are openly offended by children if they say that the holiday will be designed only for the closest relatives and true friends, that the bride and groom will come in jeans, and they will spend all the money collected on a trip to Europe or on Lake Baikal .

Extravaganza is magic

The word extravaganza comes from the French "fairy" (feerie from fee) - a sorceress. Therefore, it is logical to assume that extravaganza is magic or a magical, fabulous spectacle that evokes vivid emotions of its participants and spectators.
